HISTORY

The company was formed in 1889 by Henry David Lee as the Lee Mercantile Company at Salina ,Kansas producing dungarees and jackets.

The growth of Lee was prompted by the introduction of the Union-All work jumpsuit in 1913 and their first overall in 1920.

Later in the 1920s Lee introduced a zipper fly and continued to expand. Around this time, the first children's overall line was sold. In 1928 H.D. Lee, died of complications following a heart attack.

During the 1930s and 1940s the company became the leading manufacturer of work clothes in the US. In 1944, the Lazy "S" became the official Lee back pocket.

A flood wiped out Lee's Kansas City distribution center. It ruined the entire stock of merchandise, except the Buddy Lee dolls, which floated.

In 1954, Lee expanded into casual wear. During the 1960s the company expanded to 81 countries and in 1969 was acquired by VF Corporation, becoming a brand.

Lee Model Hunt Contest 2013

Lee presents ‘Lee 2013 Model Hunt Contest’ which will be held on 15th November from 3 pm to 7 pm at Oberoi Mall Atrium.

Boys and girls in the age group of 18 to 28 are the target participants for the show.

Auditions will be taken on the spot at the Oberoi Mall and the registrations will open from 1st November on www.lee.com .

The selected participants which will be scrutinized on the basis of there photos and form have to come for the live audition in which LIVE RAMP WALK will be held and the mall audience will choose the winner for both boys and girls.

The winning participants will be featured on Lee’s print ads and TV commercial and win a gift voucher from Lee worth Rs.50,000/- each.

SHOW FLOW-

3.45 PM-Audience and Judges get seated on there respective seats.

4.00 PM-Emcee introduces herself and announces about the LEE MODEL HUNT CONTEST 2013 and acknowledges the judges who are highly recognized fashion icons of the country and one is the MD of Lee India . Lee as a brand is also promoted & its history being told by the MD himself.

4.15 PM-The participants come one by one on the stage and give a short intro about themselves.

4.45 PM-Emcee engages audience by playing some games in which the discount vouchers are to be won ,so that spectators also engage in the show.

5.15 PM-The next round of contest is announced which is Talent Round .

5.15 PM- Talent round begins and the participants show there talents viz. acting, dancing , singing & so on one by one .The judges gives marks to them.

6.15 PM-Emcee cracks some jokes and builds confidence of the participants before the results of the last round are announced.

6.30 PM-The results of Talent Hunt round are announced and the non-selected participants are requested to leave and they are each given Rs.2000 Vouchers from Lee.

6.45 PM-Emcee declares the next round that is Fashion walk Round in which remaining participants will wear Lee products differently . They can choose any of the Lee product from the backstage and they have to get ready.

7.15 PM-The participants get half an hour of time to dawn there Lee products .They then do a Ramp Walk in front of the respective judges who again judge them on the basis of certain criteria's.

7.45 PM-Emcee declares the result of the last round and the two runner-up's and winner is declared and the winners are given the gift vouchers from Lee and a contract from Lee to be a part of there team for a year.

8.00 PM-The show ends.
