The simple stone masons faced with thediff icult task o f bui ld ing a vaul t to ho use themagical a r t i fac t deve loped th e f i r s t use s o f t heKyragern 's powers .

Originally used as the source o f magic fo rth e pro tec t ive covering about t he gem itself, th epowers were l a te r a l so used during the con st ruc -tion of the w o n d ro us Castle K y ran d i a .
