south of Bulawayo.
It is a shrine for many African Gods, a place of mystery and leg-
end. You are able to view the 20,000 years old Bushman Paintings,
the magnificent rock formation, the beautiful scenery and at the
view of the world the tombs of the late Cecil John Rhodes, Lean-
der Starr and the Allen Wilson Memorial.
During your visit, you can go for a game drive through the park
where you will see the impala, giraffe, rhino, and the occasional
leopard as well as the beautiful black eagle.
Rhodes is buried on World's View
Come With Us & Walk the Wild
The rainy season in this dry area of Zimbabwe, geographically on the edge of the Kalahari Desert, lasts from November
to March. Then the area is transformed into lush greenery. However, at any time of year, you can climb the rocks and spy
out numerous Bushmen paintings hidden beneath the rocks or in hollows. Many hidden paintings exist for the intrepid
searcher. You will get magnificent views of sunrise and sunset from the top of the highest rocks. One of these is where
Cecil Rhodes (marauding colonial entrepreneur, who had a love-hate relationship with the local Ndebele people) was bur-
ied. Another is the famed Njelele rock where local chiefs gather every year to pray for rain. Because there are no street or
house lights, the view of the night sky is simply breath-taking.

GREAT Zimbabwe
Great Zimbabwe Ruins is said to have been built by the Mambo people who flourished between 1250-1450AD. The ruins
comprise three main complexes, the great enclosure, the hill, and the valley. The massive curving walls of the Great Enclo-
sure, 11m high and over 245m in circumference consists of nearly 1 million hand cut granite blocks fit together without
the aid of mortar.
It is interesting to note that although Great Zimbabwe is in the area of several rivers it is not actually on the shores of a
river. The city appears to be in the middle of nowhere. It is believed, however, that the city was located on a gold-rich
mine. Great Zimbabwe was used and built as a religious center and a place from which they worshipped Mwari, the
creator of all life as well as the sustainer of all things.
Lake Mutirikwe
During your visit to The Great Zimbabwe, you shall be taken for sunset boat
cruise on the Lake Mutirikwe which was built in 1961 to provide water for
the sugar estates.

HWANE National Park The largest protected national park in Zimbabwe
Hwange National Park-the largest protected wilderness in Southern Af-
rica, covering an area of 14,600sq kilo meters. It is the home of 105
mammals, 400 types of birds, 260 kinds of trees and 1000 kind of plants.
It is situated on the main road between Bulawayo and the world famous
Victoria Falls.
Water is the single most important management factor in Hwange’s con-
tinued existence-absolutely vital to the survival of what is perhaps Af-
rica’s single largest concentration of elephant.
The constant maintenance of the artificial but natural looking water pans,
complete with resident hippo’s and crocodile has been a major factor in
sustaining this ecological treasury. Without them Hwange national park
would return to the empty wasteland it once was, animals would die in
their thousands.
Driving Safaris in Hwange

area including the big five, the elephant, the rhino, the buffalo, the lion

Lake Kariba was created in 1958 when the Zambezi River was dammed
to provide hydroelectric power for ZIMBABWE and ZAMBIA.
Some Africans initially opposed construction of the dam, seeing it as a
symbol of the unpopular Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, which
dissolved into Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and Zambia in 1963. Later,
however, the dam was accepted because of the inexpensive electric
power it furnishes to Zambia’s prosperous copper industry.
It is not only the beauty of lake KARIBA that is situated there, but there
are also many other astonishing areas where you can make your best
camping. The SIJARIRA forest area that is located on the banks of the
south-western shores of lake KARIBA, a magical gateway destination.
