The word Paracelsus, which today still retains its validity even morethan ever, deserves pride of place in these guidelines on the Horvi-enzyme therapy. This therapy was developed and researched over 65years ago by the pharmacist and chemist Dr. Waldemar Diesing. Dr.Diesing was a pupil of the German physiologist and 1931 winner of theNobel Prize for Medicine, Otto Warburg, the discoverer of the essentialenzyme Cytochrom-c-oxidase, which Otto Warburg called “respiratoryfermentation”, and whose structure was only clarified a few years agoby a group of Japanese researchers.

Dr. Diesing (previously of Horvi-Chemie) then founded his “Institute forexperimental animal research”, where he succeeded for the first time inproducing de-proteinised pure animal toxins from the raw venom ofsnakes, spiders, scorpions and salamanders. At the same time, hediscovered in each of these pure toxins the characteristics enzymescontained in them, which occur in them in many different natural forms.Each of these pure toxins which he researched and developed formedical treatment purposes contains between 35 to 50 enzyme types,whose natural composition must not be changed, since they will thenlose part of their effectiveness, and can then even cause many sideeffects. Dr. Diesing succeeded in developing a manufacturing processthat took this into account, so that the enzyme types in the individualpure toxins underwent no changes. He also succeeded in almost com-pletely removing the protein bonds, reducing them from the original85% to 1.8-2%, without damaging the enzymes.

ENZYMES (Ferments – Greek “en zyme” = in yeast) are proteins thatare essential for the metabolic processes of all organism (including thehuman organism), and which as biological catalysts* assist biochemicalprocesses by reducing or accelerating the necessary activation energy,and enable the process to take place in the required way, without them-selves undergoing any chemical change.

Through their protein structure, they are able to identify the materialwhose reaction they are intended to control (substrate specificity), the-reby enabling a wide range of simultaneous metabolic processes. Thisprotein bio-synthesis of enzymes differs depending on the organ and onthe individual enzyme in question (enzyme polymorphism).

A disease beaks out due to an enzyme defect, which means an enzy-me blockage of a metabolic process. This enzyme inhibition can occurdue to an acquired inactivity or the hereditary, genetic lack of a particu-lar enzyme. If the correct enzyme is now supplied by means of Horvi-enzyme therapy, this usually brings about a cure, especially in the caseof an acquired inactivity of the enzyme inhibition. From this comes thestatement by Dr. Diesing: The Horvi-enzyme preparations do not com-bat any symptoms, although they are still genuine curative agents – afact which has been confirmed over the last 65 years by innumerablepatients in human and animal medicine.

To all critics and sceptics, let it be said here: in the healing of animals,the reference to a placebo effect can certainly not apply! AESCULA-PIUS, the son of Apollo, the Greek god of healing, carried with him thestaff of Aesculapius as early as 293 BC. The staff of Aesculapius wasembellished with coiled snakes, symbolising the status of a healer, theart of medicine and medical knowledge. The staff of Aesculapius canstill be found represented today on the letterheads of many therapists,so that this medical symbol of the snake is still in current use and notyet been forgotten.

A form of medicine based on over 65years of EXPERIENCE, and which has therefore been successfullytested and is free of side effects even in the case of long-termtreatment.You are requested however to observe the following instructionsclosely, since Horvi-EnzyMed Holland B. V. cannot accept anyliability for improper use of the preparations.

Points to note in Horvi-enzyme therapy:Administration of liquids:

If several Horvi-liquids are being taken, these should not be taken as amixture. Always allow approx. 5 to 10 minutes between taking differentliquids.

When taking several liquids, these should always be taken separately.For example, if 4 different liquids are being taken, 2 should be takenbefore a meal and 2 some time after a meal.2

Keep all drops in the mouth for at least 1 minute, so that they are almostcompletely absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth!

In case of very sensitive mucous membranes, the drops can also betaken with 1/2-tsp. of water. This mixture should then be kept in themouth for at least 3 minutes. (All Horvi-liquids contain 20% alcoholas a preservative; 15 drops therefore contain the same amount ofalcohol as 1/2-tsp. of beer.)If the Horvi-liquids are mixed, this will change the method of action!They must also not be mixed with any homeopathic medicines!

Administration of injections:Horvi-enzyme injections should never be administered at the same timeas taking injections of other manufacturers whose instructions statethat occasional allergic reactions may occur! Never mix with ampoulessupplied by other manufacturers!

Horvi-enzyme preparations must not be used for patients with ahighly allergic reaction to animal proteins (extremely rare), sincethe preparations still contain 1.8 to 2% animal protein.Do not mix Horvi ampoules, since this will not only change the methodof action, but also increase the risk of allergies!

The individual ampoules that can be mixed are Horvi-enzyme Crotalusmite or forte with 1 ampoule Horvi-Curare 4 or Horvi-Curare 5!

Curare 4 is usually sufficient when mixed with Crotalus mite or forte asa catalyst. Curare 5 is generally added in cases of severe spasticity,palsy, severe dyspnoea and “grand mal” epilepsy.

Contraindications for Curare 4 and Curare 5 are: myasthenia, myas-thenia gravis, all diseases in which bulbar paralysis can occur as asymptom of the disease, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),schizophrenia, psychoses and localised brain psycho-syndrome,medulla tumours, etc.

25 mg of Vitamin B 1 can also be mixed with the following ampoulesas a catalyst:

The Horvi-enzyme Horvitrigon mite / forte can also be mixed with up to 1 ml of the patient’s own blood, which is particularly advisablein the case of allergic diseases and immune deficiencies. If thepatient’s own blood is added, Vitamin B 1 should not be added tothe mixture.

Two different Horvi-enzyme ampoules can be injected at the same time,though this should be done separately, i.e. intra-muscular or deep sub-cutaneous. Do not create any blisters, since this can cause local reac-tions. Never inject the ampoules into the oral or genital areas!

In rare cases, local reactions can occur at the point of injection;these are not allergic reactions! Local reactions manifest themselves inthe form of inflammation or swelling, and the area can also becomesomewhat hot. This can be treated by rubbing in Horvi-Serpalgincream. Do not administer injections to areas of local reaction until thereaction has subsided again. These local reactions can be avoided bymassaging the area thoroughly following every injection, so that thepreparation is spread throughout the tissue as quickly as possible oradding 1 ml NaCI (= salt solution) to the ampoules. These local reac-tions have no therapeutic disadvantage, on the contrary, they can evenhave very positive effects in the case of some diseases such as rheu-matism, and will then completely disappear after 2 to 3 weeks of Horvi-enzyme therapy.

All Horvi-enzyme ampoules can also be administered orally as drinkingampoules. The ampoule contents are placed on the tongue, andshould then be kept in the mouth for at least 3 minutes. This form ofapplication is particularly suitable for small children, since they containno alcohol. In the case of small children, the ampoule contents aredrawn up into a syringe, and the mother administers the ampoule con-tents to the child (without a hypodermic needle of course) in 2 to 3doses throughout the day, undiluted in the mouth. Children under 2years old should be given the ampoule contents by the mother in dropform throughout the day. The ampoule contents should always be keptsterile throughout the day, until the next application, in the syringe.

Do not use any drinking ampoules for the treatment of life-threate-ning diseases – this could be extremely dangerous! If a cancerpatient does not want any injections, please refrain from Horvi the-rapy; the patient should then preferably use other forms of treat-ment.

Information on medications that should notbe used in conjunction with Horvi-enzyme

therapy:If cancer patients are receiving so-called immune modulators such as:monoclonal antibodies from mice (Herceptin) or monoclonalmouse/human antibodies (Mabthera), Interferon, Interleucine,Baypamun, Ukrain, ATC, mistletoe, Thymus, please refrain from Horvi-enzyme therapy!

If patients are undergoing chemotherapy, which runs in 2 – 3 weekcycles, Horvi-enzyme therapy can (should!) be administered in thetreatment intervals between the chemotherapy; Horvi-enzyme injec-tions should not be administered on the same days as chemotherapy.

If chemotherapy is being administered weekly, the treatment intervalsbetween the chemotherapy cycles are in this case too short to allow theHorvi-enzyme therapy to work effectively. (This is more akin to a battlebetween David and Goliath, in which Goliath always emerges the vic-tor.) In such cases it would not be an outright mistake to weigh up thepossible benefits and adverse effects, in case of such frequently pallia-tive chemotherapy treatment, since the patient must not be forgottencompletely, despite everything feasible! (As such a patient once said:“These frequent chemotherapy treatments have certainly not extendedmy life, it just seemed longer because of all the suffering caused by thechemotherapy!)

Horvi-enzyme therapy can (should!) be administered in parallel withradiation treatment!

In the case of multiple sclerosis patients who are receiving (Betaferone=) Betaferon, Avonex, Rebif or cytostatics, such as Methotrexat (MTX),Novantron etc., please refrain from Horvi-enzyme therapy!

In the case of rheumatism patients receiving immune-suppressants andmalaria treatments, MTX, please refrain from Horvi-enzyme therapy!

If immune-suppressants are being used to treat collagenoses (auto-immune diseases), please refrain from Horvi-enzyme therapy! Neveruse immune-stimulating medications in cases of collagenosis!Horvi-enzyme therapy is contraindicated for all patients with organtransplants; such patients must always take immune-suppressantsto combat organ rejection reactions. Therefore please refrain fromHorvi-enzyme therapy!For patients taking medications which affect blood coagulation (suchpatients should always have their prothrombin time checked), who are

then given anticoagulant therapy with Marcumar, do not administerHorvi injections, since this could lower the prothrombin time. Oral medi-cation with the liquid preparations is however still possible.

For patients receiving the bacterial toxin “Clostridium botulinum” =Botox (for blepharospasm and spasmodic torticollis), please refrainfrom Horvi-enzyme therapy! Even after discontinuation of Botox, Horvi-enzyme therapy makes little sense, since the iatrogenic damage cau-sed by Botox can be irreversible, and Horvi-enzyme therapy will no lon-ger be effective.

Cortisone is not contraindicated in conjunction with Horvi-enzyme the-rapy, and can if necessary be administered in parallel with Horvi-enzy-me therapy. However: Cortisone should wherever possible only be usedas a temporary measure, and not a permanent treatment method, sincelong-term treatment with Cortisone also causes irreversible damage.Cortisone should however never be discontinued abruptly, but shouldgradually be reduced and finally discontinued after several weeks ofHorvi therapy. In the case of patients with an adrenocortical deficiency(Addison’s disease, anterior hypophysis lobe deficiency etc.), Cortisoneis essential, and cannot be discontinued in such cases!
