Guidelines - Plan Should Be:
•Succinct, clear, impactful and action focussed as possible
•Delivered through the programmes of other stakeholders as well as by the Local Authority
•Completed by December 31st 2015 and will be for 6 years
•Reviewed in 2016 on development of RSES
Must be Consistent With:the existing Regional Planning Guidelines 2010 – 2022
later with the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategies (RSESs) to be prepared by the Regional Assembly
new National Planning Framework to replace the NSS
the County Development Plan
current Government Economic Development Policy e.g. Medium Term Economic Strategy 2014 – 2020 and Enterprise Strategy Making It Happen – Growing Enterprise for Ireland as well as Action Plan for Jobs
LECP needs to be sufficiently resilient to allow for possible changes in scenarios on which policy is based.
