My Look: Mixing styles. Statement jewelry. You’ll never see

me without a lipcolor and fun eyewear. Shoes are a passion

and tend to be outfit making. I appreciate how LENA’s simple

pieces act as a canvas for many creative looks both day time

casual and cocktail chic.

Shopping habits: Fast shopping. I usually don’t try things

on. I know my body well and what I like so who needs to

waste time. I have two teenage boys to tend to. Having started my

career at Nordstrom and then moving on to Nike (both of

which provide great product and costumer service), I now

lean toward shopping small boutiques because they tend to

be creative with a specific point of view. Plus I love to make

friends with shop girls on a first name basis. My former

Portland haunts know I am just a phone or text away.

Kelley Smith chose to reflect the natural colors of fall with dark espresso brown and pops

of pink in hues of blush and pale coral. Lena’s signature sashes allow brides to

create any color palette their hearts desire.

NEW ENGLAND WEDDING OF ANDREA WATKINS AND THOMAS HARVEY

When Thomas and I tied the knot on September 26 this year, folks came from all over to celebrate

with us at the historic house so affectionately referred to as AshAnty on Long Pond in Plymouth,

Massachusetts.

After 5 years as a Shop Girl at Lena Medoyeff Studio the notion of wearing anything but a Lena

dress was out of the question. The question remained: Would I be a mystical, sparkly mermaid bride?

Would I wear a lacy, bias dress that harks to the feminine freedom of the 1920s? Would I wear a sexy,

modern silk charmeuse "Liz" dress that shows off my curves? As the time came for me to pick out a

real wedding dress - and settle on one of my many fantasy "looks" - I decided to go with a comfort-

able dress that celebrates the one thing my sweet groom wanted to see: ME.

So, my good friend Lynn designed something she knew I would love. My only criteria was that it

be pink. A perfectly pale pink embroidered silk dress was the result, and I loved every single thing

about it. I was comfortable, happy, and confident. And that love and beauty that surrounded Thomas

and I on our wedding day was heightened by the love wrapped around me by my gorgeous Lena

dress. The love from Lynn, Alison, Kristin, Tanya and Barb was with me on that day in the woods in

New England, so far from my Oregon roots.

Andrea choose a pink custom made LENA gown created by Lynn Medoff to complimenther Oregon vibe in New England (elements of historic Oregon, with Pendleton wool pen-nants and coasters as goodies for guests); Oregon wines (and New England beer); tablesnamed after special places to Thomas and Andrea, such as "Goose Hollow", "Burnside","Doug Fir", "Willamette", and "Astoria." We love the colorful flowers!

How long have you been part of the lena family? I’ve worked with Lynn for over 4 years but have been shop-

ping here for longer...it is my dream job, and it truly is a family .

What do you love most about being a Lena Girl? Seeing our customers light up when they try on something

that makes them feel beautiful, especially when they don’t think it will look good on them! The day that new product ar-

rives is always exciting. I immediately want to call my customers so they don’t miss out.

A lot of our printed fabrics come in short runs as they are made especially for us. These pieces usually sell fast.

What is your all time favorite dress?

Penelope. I love how it works on my body shape. It is a one size piece and works on almost any body type. Like many of

our customers I tend to collect them in a rainbow of colors. Seasonal and holiday colors are really fun: Reds, Golds,

Greens and fancy fabrics are arriving now.

Little known fact about allison:

LettersHello Lena,

I wanted to express my happiness and joy when Hannah and I decided to buy the Julianna

wedding dress for Hannah’s wedding next July. That day will be one of the most member-

able days for me in my relationship with Hannah. My tears were for both how stunning she

looks in your dress and for the pure happiness of having been part of the experience. Hannah

was on cloud nine for the rest of the day. She absolutely loves the dress.Thank you for de-

signing such beautiful dresses. I would like toentertain a dress for me but it seems I don’t fit

your target demographics. How would we go about this with me living in Utah?

Sincerely, Ann Grech

Hey LENA,

I wanted to write and thank you for the amazing experience it was working with everyone at

your store. My mom and I both got dresses from you for the wedding, and were both so

happy with them. We stumbled upon your store by accident as we were walking to another

store. We walked in and were immediately welcomed by an amazing staff and the so so so

adorable, Birdie. I knew that if a store had a lab in it - it was the store for me. We came in so

many times and each time was a great experience.

The staff was accommodating- even when the stress

of graduate school led to me gaining ten pounds. I

was so self conscious about that, but it was handled

so perfectly. This was the best dress ever.

Thank you so much,

Molly Bean

We’d love to help you find a dress Ann. There is a Lena dress for everyone!

LettersHello Barb:

One of my daily pleasures is checking out your web sites http;//lename-

doyeffstudio.tumblr.com; http://barbbruchdesign.tumblr.com; Lynn’s

dresses are such a perfect fit. Lynn has been showing me pictures of the

amazing remodel of Lena...a very elegant space. Your vision was right on

the mark. The Lena Quarterly was such a surprise

last night and actually brought a tear to my eye....and I guess the best

comment was WOW! You and Lynn are such talented women. I know

that Lynn treasures your friendship and I think it is wonderful. You may

know a lot of people but there are only a few that you hold dear in your

heart...a very special thing. Thank you.

Warmest Regards,

Elaine Medoff

This makes my day Elaine. Your daughter is a fine, elegant strong woman. You and Kermit are the

parents you made her who she is....though we know she certainly has a mind of her own!! I

ADORE HER as does my husband Bruce, who is very generous about my Lena habit. Bruce and I

have been very lucky in life (except for my brain tumor thing!!) The brain tumor thing, (which is im-

proving dramatically) while not a piece of MILK BAR Birthday Cake, only makes me appreciate life,

family and friends much more. Thank you.
