LepitectTM Product Guide
Product Category: Insecticide/MiticideActive Ingredient: Acephate 97.4%Item #: 1111Unit Size: 10 ounce pouchUnit Treats: 25-50 diameter inches
Product Overview: Lepitect™ is a unique soil injection insecticide that provides rapid systemic control of many key shade tree pests. One application will give 30 days of efficacy for lepidopteran larvae such as gypsy moth, fall webworm, cankerworms, and bagworms. Lepitect™ is also a great tool for management of spider mites and leaf feeders such as Japanese beetles.
How do I apply it?Dilute Lepitect™ in water and apply as a soil injection using the HTI 2000 Soil Injection System.
When do I apply it?Applications can be made to actively growing plants just prior to or when insects first appear.
Note: Do not apply Lepitect™ more than once per month.
How much product do I need?It is important to apply the proper dose to the plant you are treating. Gather the following information to deter-mine the accurate amount of product needed:
1. Determine the plant species to be treated and the rate category it belongs to. If you’re having trouble identifying your tree, contact the Tree Geeks for more information.
2. Measure your tree. At 4½ feet above the ground, wrap a measuring tape around the trunk of the tree. Divide the measurement by 3.14 to get the diameter, also known as DBH (diameter at breast height). (Refer to Determining DBH Guide, left)
If you have a tree with multiple stems, measure the diam-eter of the tree at the narrowest point between the root flare and split of the stems.

Lepitect™ Product Guide Soil Injection Application
Determining DBH
Single Stem:Measure the standard DBH of the tree.
Multiple IndividualTrees Growing inClose Proximity: Fortrees that have grownclose together, mea-sure the DBH of each stem and treat each stem individually.
Multi-stem Split At or Below DBH: For atree that has multiple stems splitting below DBH, measure the tree at the narrowest point between the root flare and the split.
Stem Clusters: For trees that are grown too close together to be treated as individual trees, measure the DBH of each stem and add the measurements together.
After determining the size of your tree, look at the rate card to see how much product is needed.
Do-it-Yourself: LepitectTM is easily applied as a soil injection.
