Wild berry season is here; ripen me depends on the locaon. Berries are most oen in moist areas near

lakes and rivers. Remember to leave some for the wildlife and keep an eye out for bears as they love juicy

berries as well.

The following is a list of wild berries and mes that they normally grow in:

Salmonberry – Begins around May to late July.

Elderberry – June to July (elderberries cannot be eaten raw, as they may cause nausea)

Huckleberry; Wild Blueberry – begins June for red huckleberry, and late July or early August through to Sep-

tember for blueberry.

Thimbleberry – Beginning of July

Blackcap Raspberry – Mid to late July through to September

There will be various indoor/outdoor activities at the band office such as: soccer, volleyball, basketball, water fights, arts and

crafts, etc.

This program is to encourage the children to be active, keep busy, and have fun throughout the summer.

We want the parent to be aware that their children are able to come down to the office on scheduled days and sometimes on

field trips.

We will be providing an event calendar closer to the end of the month.
