They all wanted to listen to him and be healed by the miracles he performed. One day, while Jesus was in a big crowd, a woman tried her best to touch Jesus. She got as close as she could and touched the bottom of his cloak. Jesus said, “Who touched me?” He could tell, even though she touched the very tip of his clothes, that someone had touched him, because he felt his power leave him to help her. Jesus’ disciples looked around, they said, “Jesus, there are many people here, we are all bumping into each other!” Then, a woman came from the crowd, bowed before Jesus and said, “I did. I wanted to be healed. I have been sick for a long time and knew if I touched you, I would get better.” Jesus smiled at the woman and said, “Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.” The woman had faith that all she had to do was touch Jesus and she would be healed of her illness. This shows us that God’s power in Jesus was very very strong. BIBLE TIMEOn Sunday, we talked about the woman who had faith in Jesus to heal her. We are going

to talk about her again so we can remember that Jesus has the power to take care of those who have faith in him. Teacher’s Tip: Wednesday evenings are set up to review each lesson presented on Sunday morning. For extra fun, have a small chest full of clothes and props for the children to use to reenact the lesson on Wednesday nights.

SUPPLIES NEEDED• 2 styrofoam cups• 2 tube socks• 2 marbles• 2 paper clips• 2 cotton balls

CLASS SCHEDULE1. Welcome/Books of the Bible2. Singing/Memory Verse3. Bible Lesson4. Craft Time5. Snack/Prayer

CRAFT CORNERPlace one marble, cotton ball, and paper clip into each cup. Place the tube socks over the opening of the cup and clip off the toe of the sock to create a tunnel for the children to reach into. Have each child take turns reaching into the cup to try to guess the items inside. After the activity, you can play a game of “Who Touched Me?”. Have one child stand with their back to the class, and ask a child to walk over and gently touch their shoulder. Once the child gets back with the others, have your guesser turn around, and try to guess which child touched them.

BIBLE TIMELast week, we talked about the woman who touched Jesus’ cloak and was healed

because of her faith, today, we will talk about another person Jesus healed! A man named Jairus had a daughter who was very sick. Nothing he did could make her

feel better. Who have we been taking about that can make Jairus’ daughter feel better? Jesus can! Jairus came to Jesus and said, “Please heal my sick daughter.” He knew Jesus could save his daughter. As they walked to Jairus’ house, one of his servants came to them and said, “I’m sorry, but your daughter had died.” Jairus was really sad. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid, for she is fine!” When they got to the house, Jesus went to the little girls room, and asked everyone to leave. Jesus walked up to to Jairus’ daughter and said, “My child, get up!” Right then, Jairus’ daughter got up! She felt better and was healed! Jesus told her parents to get her something to eat. Her mommy and daddy were amazed to see Jesus’ power. Can you imagine? Jairus’ daughter was dead, and Jesus brought her back to life!! Who else was brought back to life? Jesus! Jesus died on the cross because of his love for us and was raised again so he could be our friend in heaven.

Craft Recap: Who’s daughter was sick? Jairus’! What happened to the girl before Jesus got to her house? She died. Did Jesus help her anyway? Yes! He brought her back to life! Jesus’ power is amazing and can even overturn death!

Teacher’s Tip: Make sure you are making it a class habit to place the coloring sheets in each child’s binder after they finish. If a child is absent, place their coloring sheet in their binder for them so they will have the lesson. If you have guests, they can take their coloring pages with them.

BIBLE TIMEWe have been talking a lot about how Jesus was able to heal people of sickness, and

even bring people back from the dead! Today, we are going to take a look at another miracle Jesus was able to perform to show his love for people, and to show God’s power.

Many people followed Jesus the more and more he spoke to others about God. One day, they sat and listened to him talk all day long! Can you imagine sitting and listen to a lesson all day? How would you feel? Do you think at some point you would get hungry? The people who were listening to Jesus started to get hungry. Jesus wanted to feed them. He asked one of his disciples, his helpers, to find food. Only one little boy had food, but it was not enough! He brought five loaves of fish, and two fish. Do you think this would be enough to feed 5,000 people? No way! But then, a miracle happened. Jesus told everyone to sit down. He took the boy’s lunch and prayed, thanking God for the food they had. He broke the pieces of fish and bread up and the disciples gave it to all the people. Jesus was able to feed 5,000 people with only 5 loaves of bread and two fish! It was a miracle! There were even pieces of food left over! Jesus took care of the people who followed him that day. Jesus takes care of us as well.

Craft Recap: How many people did Jesus feed? 5,000! What did he feed them? Bread and fish! Where did he get the bread and fish? A little boy’s lunch! Jesus takes care of his followers.

Teacher’s Tip: This lesson takes prep-work! Plan accordingly.

BIBLE TIMEJesus’ helpers, the disciples, were on a boat. Jesus wanted to spend some alone time

with God in prayer. He told them he would meet up with them later. While on the boat, the wind and waves started to crash into the boat. A storm was coming and it was making the little boat fight hard to stay above water. Jesus’ helpers, the disciples, were scared! They looked out into the stormy water and saw Jesus! Jesus said, “Do not be afraid! It’s me, Jesus!” Jesus was walking right to them on top of the water, getting closer and closer! Can people do that? Walk on water? When Peter heard that it was Jesus, he got out of the boat because he wanted to be with Jesus. He saw all the scary waves rising up around him and began to sink. Jesus saved him. Once they got back into the boat, the water was calm again. Peter had faith that he could be with Jesus, so he was able to walk on the water. He got scared when he saw the waves. He began to sink because he was not trusting in Jesus. But Jesus took him by the hand, and saved him from the waves. He can perform miracles, heal the sick, and walk on water! BIBLE TIMEJesus is our helper and friend. He takes care of us and is always helping us. Jesus can

do amazing things. What amazing things can Jesus do? (Allow the children to share a few of the accounts you have already gone over.) Today, we will learn how Jesus helped a man who could not talk, or hear. One day, Jesus met a man who could not talk, or hear. How hard would that be if we could not use our mouths to speak, or our ears to hear? How would we learn? How would we tell someone we needed something? It was very hard for this man to be able to do things. He had been this way all his life! No hearing, no talking, no singing! The man’s friends brought him to Jesus so Jesus could heal him. Jesus put his hands over the man’s ears. He also put his finger on the man’s tongue. Immediately, the man’s ears and mouth were healed and for the first time ever, the man was able to hear and talk! What do you think he heard? Birds? People cheering? He got to hear Jesus’ voice! The man was so happy to be healed. Jesus told the man, and his friends, to not tell others what had happened, but they were so amazed and excited that they couldn’t help it! Jesus healed the man who could not hear or talk. How did he do this? He covered the man’s ears with his hands, and put his finger on the man’s tongue! Jesus healed the man, it was another miracle!

Craft Recap: What needed to be healed on the man we talked about? His ears and tongue! He could not hear, or speak. Who healed the man? Jesus! What did he do to the man’s ears? He put his hands over them. What did he do to the man’s mouth? He placed his finger on the man’s tongue! What happened next? The man could speak, and hear! It was a miracle!

Arrival Activity:Find a coloring sheet of animals and print off for the children to color as they arrive. Ask them how they can hear the animal sounds, and what it would be like to not be able to hear the sounds.

Cut the paper plates in half and give the pieces to each child. You can either pre-cut the ears for the plates, or pass them out for the children to cut. After they are cut, allow the children to color them, and glue them to each piece of the paper plate. Attach a pipe cleaner to the tops with tape to create a headband. BIBLE TIMEJesus is our helper and friend. He takes care of us and is always helping us. Jesus can

do amazing things. Let’s talk again about the man Jesus healed who couldn’t hear or talk. One day, Jesus met a man who could not talk, or hear. How hard would that be if we

could not use our mouths to speak, or our ears to hear?

The ten men were very sad and hurting. If people had leprosy, they had to go off by themselves. No one would talk to them, help them, or touch them. Jesus felt compassion for the ten men and wanted to help. Jesus told the men to go show themselves to the priests. As the men left to do this, Jesus healed the leprosy. By the time they got to the priests, the leprosy was gone! The ten men, the priests, and the people were amazed at what happened. If someone did something like this for you, what would you say? How many men were healed? Ten! How many men do you think found Jesus and told him thank you? ONE! Only one man decided to go back to Jesus and tell him thank you for what he had done. Only one man! How many were healed? Ten! Jesus told the man that his faith had healed him. The man was very happy. We too should always be thankful and happy when others do things for us. It is always polite to say thank you! We need to always be thankful for things people do for us! Do we like to hear someone say thank you when we do something nice? Yes. BIBLE TIMEEach time we have been in class, we have talked about Jesus helping others. He helped

the sick, he helped children, he helped old people, he helped sad people. Jesus was always looking for ways to be a helper. This is the life Jesus lived! This is the life he wants all of us to live, to be good helpers. Today, we will learn about the time Jesus helped a blind man. Do you know what blind means? It means that you cannot see with your eyes! How hard would it be for someone to be blind? It would be very difficult. The man had never seen anything his whole life! No trees, flowers, no friends, nothing! When Jesus met the man, he felt compassion and wanted to help him. Jesus took dirt from the ground and spit in it and made mud. He then put the mud on the man’s eyes. Jesus told the man to go wash his face in a pool of water. The man did, and guess what? He could see! Jesus helped the man by making his eyes see! The man told everyone that Jesus made him see! Some people didn’t believe the blind man was healed. They thought he was someone else. He told the people, “No! It is me! I was blind since birth and the man named Jesus healed me!” The people were amazed and believed in Jesus and his power.

Craft Recap: What was wrong with the man Jesus healed? He was blind, and could not see. How did Jesus make this better? He made mud and placed it on the man’s eyes. What happened next? The man could see! Jesus healed the man who could not see.

means that you love others with compassion. Just like God and Jesus love them. Sometimes, it is easy to help others, and sometimes, we just don’t want to. One day Jesus told the people about a man who was hurt and beat up. No one wanted to help him. The man had been walking on the road when he was robbed and beaten by robbers. They took everything he had and ran off, leaving him right there in the road! That’s sad! A priest walked by the man and saw him, but then walked over to the other side of the road because he did not want to help. Another man walked by a bit later and saw the beat up man, and do you think he stopped? NO! He didn’t! He didn’t help. Then, a third man, called a Samaritan walked by. Do you think he helped the hurt man? He sure did! The Samaritan felt compassion for the man. He picked him up, placed bandages on him, and put the hurt man on his donkey. He walked the donkey into town and found an inn for the hurt man to stay in while he healed. The Samaritan paid for the hurt man’s food, and shelter! The Samaritan knew how important it was to love all people and help whenever needed. Did Jesus live this way? Did he love all people and help them? He did, and he asks us to do the same! We are all asked to be good helpers for God our Father.

BIBLE TIMEJesus had some really good friends he loved to visit. Two sisters and a brother. Their

names were Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Today, we are going to talk about Mary and Martha. One day, he came to visit them in their house. Mary loved to listen to Jesus talk about God the Father and His love. While Mary was listening, her sister Martha was very busy working in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. She was not still and listening like Mary. She was too busy to enjoy Jesus’ company. Mary knew it was important to sit still and listen to Jesus. He had very important things to say! He was teaching about God! Martha was getting angry with Mary because she thought Mary needed to be helping er. She came to Jesus and said, “Don’t you care that my sister has left me with all the work? Tell her to help me!” Jesus answered, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things. Mary chose to sit and listen to me. That is more important!” Jesus wants all of us to remember that he comes first. Everything else we have to do in life isn’t as important. He wants us to make sure we are taking the time for Jesus! Just like Mary did. She sat politely and listened to Jesus. We can too! We can listen to the Bible lessons in Bible class, and follow along with worship by bowing our heads when we pray, singing songs, and listening to the lesson. Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and listened, while Martha was too busy. We should never be too busy for Jesus.

He wants us to make sure we are making time for Jesus!

Craft Recap: What were the names of the sisters we talked about? Mary and Martha. Who was their brother? Lazarus! Where was Mary? Listening to Jesus. Where was Martha? Busy in the kitchen. Who chose wisely? Mary! Mary took the time to listen to Jesus.

BIBLE TIMEJesus wants us all to know how good our Heavenly Father is. For people to better

understand Jesus’ words, he would tell them stories to help them remember facts about God’s love. He told a wonderful story about a father’s love for his son. We can read this story in our Bibles, in the book of Luke. The father had a son who did not want to work anymore. He told his father to give him all his inheritance, so he could go live by himself. The father didn’t want his son to go, but gave him the inheritance, and let him go. The son traveled very far from home and began to spend his money on foolish things. Before he knew it, all of his money had been spent. The son had to go back to work, and the only job he had was feeding pigs. He was so hungry that he wanted to eat what the pigs ate! He missed his father very much. He went home to ask his father if he could work as a servant. When the son was still far away, the father looked up, and saw him! He was so excited that he RAN all the way to his son and gave him a big hug! He was so happy that his son came back. He didn’t care that his son had been wrong, he was just happy he came back! The son said, “Please forgive me and let me be your servant!” The father said, “Bring some new clothes for my son, he was gone, but now has returned, lets celebrate with a party!” Jesus wants us to know God is like this. He is sad when we turn away from Him, but is so happy when we return to Him. God loves us very much!

Craft Recap: Why did the son leave? He didn’t want to work anymore. What did he do next? He took his inheritance, and left. What did he do with his inheritance? He spent it all! Was the father happy to have his son come back home, even though he did wrong? Yes! He ran to his son and had a party! God loves his children very much, and is happy when we return to him!

BIBLE TIMEOne day, Jesus was speaking to a big crowd. A man named Zacchaeus wanted to hear

Jesus, but was having a hard time seeing, or hearing Jesus because he was a short man. He couldn’t see over the people. Zacchaeus found a tree and decided to climb up in it to hear Jesus. Zacchaeus had been a bad man. He cheated a lot of people out of their money, and no one really liked him much. Zacchaeus hoped that Jesus would like him. Jesus saw Zacchaeus in the tree and said, “Zacchaeus! Come down! I will be staying at your house today!” Zacchaeus was excited! Jesus was coming to his house! He couldn’t believe it. Why would Jesus want to stay with a cheater like Zacchaeus? Remember what we said about Jesus. Jesus wants all people, good people, and bad people to know who God is and how much He loves them. Jesus knew Zacchaeus needed to hear that someone loved him, even though he was a sinner. After talking to Jesus, Zacchaeus wanted to change. He knew he had been bad, and wanted to make it right. He gave half of everything he had to the poor people and promised to give four times back what he stole. That means if Zacchaeus owes you $1.00, he would give you back $5.00! Zacchaeus was glad Jesus loved him, and he loved Jesus. It is hard sometimes to say we are sorry and make things right, but it is what God expected us to do! Zacchaeus did it, and we can too!

Craft Recap: Who climbed in the tree to see jesus? Zacchaeus! What did Jesus tell him? Zacchaeus! Come down! I’m coming to your house today! What did Jesus teach Zacchaeus? To stop stealing from people. Zacchaeus wanted to follow Jesus, so he chose what was right.

BIBLE TIMEDo you remember talking about Mary and Martha? We also mentioned they had a

brother, Lazarus. Lazarus got really really sick and his sisters were very worried about him. Some people went to find Jesus to tell him his friend was sick, and needed him. Jesus wanted to help his friend, but waited to go see him. When Jesus got to Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, Lazarus had died. They were all at his tomb. Mary and Martha were really sad. Jesus was really sad too. Martha ran to Jesus and said, “Oh Jesus! If you would have been here, Lazarus would not have died! But even now, I know that whatever you ask of God, He will do.” Martha knew that Jesus could change death because of God’s power. Jesus said, “Take away the stone!” He prayed to God to heal Lazarus and bring him back. Jesus said, “Lazarus! Come out!” Guess what happened? Lazarus came out of the tomb! He was dead, but was alive again! Wow! Jesus could heal the sick woman, heal the leapers, heal the man who was blind, the man who could not talk or hear, and bring back Jairus’ daughter! Jesus was able to do so many miracles because of God’s power! Why was he able to do all of this? God wanted to make sure everyone knew Jesus was His son sent to save the world from sin. If you would have seen Jesus raise Lazarus from the dead, would you believe he was the son of God? I would! And everyone else did too that day. Jesus has the power to save us all, and he did!
