Discussion Questions Why is it important to know what the Word screen elements are

used for? Is it also important to know their names? Why or why not? What are the functions of the red and green wavy lines that

sometimes appear under words in your document? When should you not accept the grammar and spelling changes Word proposes?

What is the difference between the Save and the Save As command? When should you use which command?

What is a thesaurus and what is it used for? Why do you need to use a dictionary along with a thesaurus when you are writing?

What is the task pane? What is it used for? What other ways does Word provide to accomplish some of these tasks?

Word processing has brought about some interesting changes in the way we create documents. One such change is the "just type" philosophy, which suggests that the best way to write is to just start typing, and revise your work later. Explain the "just type" philosophy. In what ways does Microsoft Word promote this "just type" philosophy?
