NUMERACY ACTIVITES
Problem solving (ACMNA001) We are learning to solve problems by drawing pictures. Can you solve the ’10 Blocks’ problem, by drawing a picture?
HASS (ACHASSK012) We are learning to share our special family traditions Watch the video ‘Barney –
It’s Traditions’ https://safeshare.tv/x/ss58fd92676a314 Discuss the word tradition (something that is handed down through generations). It can be a special event, celebration, song or a story that has been passed through your family. Brainstorm celebrations that you and your family participate in. For example, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Chinese New Year, Diwali and Birthdays. Complete the ‘My Family Celebrations’ activity and upload on to ClassDojo.
MORNING TEA
Health (ACPPS007) We are learning how to travel safely in a car and the importance of wearing a seat belt. Sing “I’m a Little Seatbelt’ to the tune of ‘I’m a Little Teapot”. Discuss how a seat belt keeps us safe when we are travelling in the car. You may like to go and sit in your car and practise putting on and taking off your own seatbelt. How else do we stay safe in the car? Complete ‘Restraints’ activity. Draw yourself in a car seat and add a strip of paper or fabric for the seatbelt. Take a photo and upload on to ClassDojo.
LUNCH
Science (ACSSU004) We are learning to use our senses to observe the weather. Watch and sing-a-long to ‘What’s the Weather Like Today?’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn7uAsLWXpk. View the poster on 5 Senses and revise sight, touch, hearing, smell, taste. Go for a weather walk in your backyard or neighbourhood to observe the weather. Take a piece of paper with you and record what the weather is like today. Close your eyes and say how the weather feels on your skin. Is it hot, sticky, cold? Look up to the sky and record what you see. Use the attached activity instructions along with your observations to create a Weather Word Wall.

I'M A LITTLE SEATBELT (Sung to the tune of: I'm a little teapot)
I'm a little seatbelt in your car.
I stay buckled up when you go near or far.
When you reach your stopping spot,
Then you shout,
'Unbuckle my seatbelt, let's get out!'
I'm a little seatbelt firm and strong,
I stay buckled up as you drive along,
When you get to Grandma's
Then you shout,
‘Unbuckle my seatbelt, let's get out!'
