BREAKTHROUGH: “COMPLACENCY TO COMMITMENT”
Joshua 7: 2-5 (NIV)
No amount of ____________________ in the past will _______________________ in the future. “Pride leads to destruction, a proud attitude brings ruin” Proverbs 16:18 (NCV) There are no ________________ of sin. What the Israelites lost sight of: Jericho was ______________, not theirs. Their need to ________________________ before facing the next challenge. They lost sight of _________________________ came from. “The sense of human adequacy is the primary barrier to genuine faith. Whether expressed as confidence in science, moral progress, or military might, the human feeling of self-reliance distances a person from his or her creator. Achan was someone who acted as though human power had won a battle and thus denied his dependence on God.” -Søren Kierkegaard
Hope for the future: “Then the Lord said to Joshua, “ Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged…” Joshua 8:1a (NIV) “HE who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ.” Philippians 1:6b (NIV) Next Steps?
