Exploration is when
you look for something
unknown or different,
or when you make a trip
to look for new
things or treasures.
Discovery is when
you find new things
accidentally and find the
way to use them, play
them or eat them.
The discoveries
happen accidentally, not
on purpose
EXPLORATION AND
DISCOVERY!! !
Exploration Discovery
Exploration and Discovery take us to new learning by
exploring new things and doing experiments to discover
new things about the world around you.
IMPORTANT
DISCOVERIES
THROUGH TIME
This article is about important
discoveries through time.
For me the Fire, X-Rays and
Penicillin are very important
discoveries so, I am going to tell
youabout them.
FIRE
Fire was discovered by the Homo Erectus a long
time ago.
When the Homo Erectus discovered the fire
they also discovered it is hot , it has light and it can
help us to cook the food.
The fire has 3 important elements that are:
oxygen, fuel and heat.
PENICILLIN
Penicillin is a medicine discovered by Alexander
Fleming in 1830.
That medicine is for: urinary, respiratory and
dental infections.
X-RAYS
X-rays are invisible electromagnetic energy that
can help you see if your body is well or if it has a
problem after an accident.
They also can be used in security like :
In airports
It was discovered by Wilhelm Roentgen in
Germany, 1895.
THE DISCOVERY OF
AMERICA
Once upon a time there was a man called
Christopher Columbus, he was a navigator that
wanted to go to Asia but he wanted to go from
East to West to prove the world is round, so, he
asked some people to be his crew members, then he
asked some kings to give him money to buy 3 ships
and the kings told him they were going to pay, but
he had to bring treasures.
It was on Friday, October 12, 1492.
Some months later on Friday October 12, 1492
they saw land and they were very surprised when
they saw the people. Days later, they took the Native
Americans as slaves, killed them and brought some
of them to Europe. When they arrived to Spain they
went with the queen to give her the treasures.
And some people accused him for fraud.
P ERSP ECTIVES OF
P EOP L E IN THE
DISCOVERY OF AM ERICA
For the Queen:
It was good because she became famous and rich.
For Christopher Columbus:
It was bad because he just got a 15th part of the
treasures, he got sick and he ended in jail.
For the crew members:
It was bad because they were tired, lost and they
slept on the floor.
For the Native Americans:
It was bad because Christopher Columbus killed
some of them, they got sick, they were slaves and
Christopher Columbus made them be Catholic.
NAVIGATION
Navigation is to go from one
place to another.
You are navigating when you
are:
Walking, running, driving a car,
E.T.C.
NAVIGATION TOOLS
Quadrant
The quadrant is a navigation tool
that is used to know the ship’s location
at the sea.
The quadrant has a ruler, and a
magnifying glass.
