MISSION STATEMENT

Let’s Start, Inc., a non-profit organization led by and for formerly incarcerated women, aims to break the cycle of incarceration in families by using the personal experiences of its participants to support recovery, educate the community and inform policy.

DEMONSTRATED POSITIVE OUTCOMESParticipants will be leaders in the organization,

the community and the social/political system.Participants will have supportive family and/or

peer relationships that aid their integration into the community.

Participants will have improved relationships with their children.

Participants will have an impact on the attitudes of policy makers and targeted community groups.

Participants will have a lower rate of incarceration and/or re-incarceration than non-participants.

Vision for the FutureLet’s Start will continue to be a catalyst for change to break the cycle of incarceration and addiction.
