This list is intended to he of assistance to home owners, homebuilders, and others interested in materials, equipment, and practicesemployed in the construction of dwellings and in the maintenance andmodernization of home properties. It includes publications issuedby the Pederal Government and by national trade associations and otherorganizations in which materials, equipment, and recommended methodsof applying or installing them are described. The National /Bureau ofStandards, however, cannot assume responsibility for statements madein outside publications by others than members of the Bureau staff.
In addition to the sources mentioned in the list, many universi-ties and colleges, through their engineering and experiment stations,agricultural extension divisions, and other departments, publish pam-phlets of interest to home owners. A list of these institutions byStates is given on page 35 of this pamphlet.
