LETTER FROM THE COMMANDER
Dear Brothers and Friends of Eta Rho,
This past year at Eta Rho we have made some significant strides and changes to uphold our goals to continuously better the Fraternity and ourselves. This all began with finding men of honor and principal by having the Chapter place an emphasis on values-based recruitment under the guidance of our Recruitment Chairmen, Parker Dunn & Ethan Gardner. Through their guidance we were able to initiate 36 brothers, including HP 1000, Ted Williams. We are currently at HP 1003 and are counting down the days until fall recruitment in order to receive another top quality pledge class.
The Chapter has made drastic improvements in its academics and philanthropic efforts. Under the motivation of our Scholarship Chairman, Cyrus Sadrinia, we were able to raise our average GPA to a 2.71 while providing incentives and mentor programs based on academics. Charley Nold headed our philanthropy committee with its main focus being set on improving Snake Daze, our philanthropy week. During this year’s events sororities competed in several events for points with the final event ending with a Kappa Delta victory in our powderpuff football tournament. All proceeds went to St. Jude’s and the overall winner of Snake Daze was KD.
As far as the social aspect goes we of course had a grand ole time this past year. Our White Rose Formal was held in Gulf Shores, AL, where we occupied a beach house for fall break in order to celebrate our hard work and achievements. Our Chaplin, Drew Turner, also has brought back the bi-weekly bible study and added a spaghetti dinner for all of those that attended. For Homecoming we gladly partnered up with Phi Mu to bring home 1st place under the leadership of our Homecoming Chairman, Joe Boteler, while also raising money for Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky. The Chapter had the opportunity to go on a Brotherhood Retreat in which LEAD Chairman, Neal Rayburn, hosted sessions about The Ritual and the values of Love, Honor, & Truth. We also hosted many sororities at the Chapter House under the preparation of Social Chairman, Michael Gonzales, such as a Valentine’s Day dinner with AOPi and a s’mores night with Kappa Delta. All of this could not have been possible if we didn’t have the watchful eye of our Risk Reduction Chairman, Spenser “Haymaker” Hansen, who had a knack for making sure we didn’t get too rowdy.
In less than a month we’ll be starting up another year of our college experience here at the Eta Rho Chapter of Sigma Nu. It is not the awards we win, the activities we participate in, or the mental turmoil from academics that make up our college experience though. It is the people with whom we face our challenges with while pushing each other to go beyond the call to honor. If one is to walk the halls of 311 Alumni Ave today, one would find evidence of a brotherhood that is dedicated to bettering each man in order to excel as a whole. With a diverse group full of brothers committed to excelling with honor, I have no doubt this upcoming year will be a milestone for Eta Rho.

Early Bird Pricing:
$30 Friday Night Only
$99 Weekend Pass
$60 Annual Alumni Yearly Dues
*** Every ticket is per person so please purchase two “weekend passes”
if you plan on bringing a date. Early Bird tickets can be purchased up
through August 31st! After that, the tickets go up in price. ***
1) I’m hearing through the grapevine that tickets for the WKU Homecoming Football Game are going fast. Please remember game tickets are not included in the weekend ticket package so please remember to purchase those soon if you’d like to attend. Those
tickets can be purchased at http://www.wkusports.com/
2) I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how many tickets to purchase… Every ticket is per person so please purchase two “weekend passes” if you plan on bringing a date.
I’ve enabled the “Friday Night Only” option for anyone who will not be participating with us the entire weekend, but only visiting on Friday.
3) At this point, both our Hyatt and Staybridge blocks of rooms are full. If you are still in
need of a room for homecoming weekend, I would suggest looking into the Holiday Inn or Hilton Garden Inn. Rooms are still available that weekend, but no group discount will
be honored at either location.
4) Due to a pre-opening Hyatt hotel computer glitch, we have booked our rooms at the Hyatt than allowed per our signed room agreement. If you would be willing to move your reservation over to the Staybridge Hotel, please let me know. (Same rate, same hotel
owner, same benefits as Hyatt, more parking, and walking distance of the Saturday night dinner and dance) This is something that was out of our control until just recently and we have been asked to fix the problem. Please help me out!
