Dear Parents/Guardians,
INAUGURAL ASIA YOUTH FOR UN WOMEN (UNIFEM) INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Youth For UN Women (UNIFEM) International Certification Program is a comprehensive development program designed with World Class Learning activities to give your child/ward an opportunity to be the forefront leaders by expanding their roles to serve in the international arena.
This certification program is uniquely different from the various programs which the student leaders across Singapore are involved in. Recognizing that young people can effect positive changes in society, the program provides a platform to guide the young people to voice their opinions and ideas and implement solutions to issues under the guidance of mentors from UNIFEM and Youth’s Leader Singapore.
Designed for the age group between 14-18yrs, the program enables our local students to become national or global ambassadors by building evidence-base education
awareness about various women’s issues in Singapore and around the region. This will be brought up to UN Human Rights Council in 2013.
The inaugural program will involve students from 10 local schools. The organizers have also set up two centers of excellence (leadership) in the west (Nanyang Girls’ High School) and in the east (Victoria Junior College).
Some key features of the program include:
Four phases of learning domains for students to learn and complete before receiving the certification;
1st Student Leaders Virtual Conference at INSEAD Asia Campus with student leaders in countries across the world simultaneously to learn and exchange views;
Live Pitch event in front of well-regarded experts compromising of C-Suites professionals, world renowned academic experts and highly respected social activists;
Student Leaders Exposition 2013 to showcase education projects.
The program will end with the Talented Young Women’s Seminar at Nanyang Girls’ High School, where the student leaders will get inspiration from the sharing of the invited
national/international women leaders, and further be motivated to effect social changes through the participation of the forum with the speakers.
We look forward to your child/ward’s active participation in the programme.
