Placement Test• Where do I find the placement test?
-in the Pink Assessment Book (p. 18 for every level)- there is a placement test overview that tells how to
give and score the test- then there is an evaluation chart to score the test - There are directions to tell you what to say while
giving the test- the actual test is next
Placement Test• When do you give the placement test?
- beginning of the school year- if a new student is added to your caseload
• How do I know which placement test to give?- start with the level that corresponds to their
grade level- depending on their percentage you may have to
give an additional test (see Assessment Book)
Placement Test
• Do I keep the placement test?- YES! Keep the placement test in a folder for that student. This is documentation that may be
needed if the student is considered for testing for special education services. It also helps you
keep track of what that student started out the RTI program knowing.

record weekly data in the pink Assessment
