2

Proposition 39

Adopted by the voters in November 2012 to close corporate tax loopholes and will provide roughly $550 million annually to K-12 and CCC’s for Energy Projects for five years

CCC’s will allocate $40 million for FY 2013-2014 distributed on an FTES basis to all CCC Districts for energy efficiency and renewable generation projects

The Chancellor’s Office will use $6 million of Proposition 39 annual funds to support energy efficiency and clean energy related workforce training in the California Community Colleges.

Sustainability Template

What is it? A collaboration between the CCC

Chancellor’s Office, Citrus College and Newcomb Anderson McCormick, funded by a California Energy Commission grant

Provides a “roadmap” and “toolkit” to help guide the California Community Colleges to a more Sustainable future

Create a “Sustainability Template” that is designed with enough flexibility to be utilized at Community Colleges throughout the state

Address energy, transportation, solid waste/recycling, water issues, green purchasing, green curriculum, and provide recommendations for Climate Action Planning.
