1.3. Scaler block /Micro controller blockGM1501 1. Manufacturer : Genesis2. Fully integrated ADC , PLL and scaler, LVDS, TMDS RX3. Input sampling rate :
- 165Mhz4. Input Format :
- Analog RGB up to WXGA (1280 * 768 @60Hz)
DVI up to WXGA (1280 * 768 @60Hz)
5. Output Format : 1 channel LVDS
* Input and output signal

*2) DVI-I input block
- TMDS signal 4 channel input
- RGB, H,V sync
*3) Video block
- YPbPr/ Composite / S-Video
For analog input, this Scaler amplifies the level of video signal for the digital conversion and converts from the analog video signal to the digital video signal using a pixel clock and outputs 8-bit R, G, B signal to LVDS transmitter.
For DVI input, this scaler convert the DVI signal to TTL output and output to LVDS transmitter. The pixel clock for each mode is generated by the PLL.
The range of the pixel clock is from 10MHz to 165MHz.
2. I/F Circuit operation Description
This block consists of u-controller, EEPROM IC which stores control data, and Reset IC*1) U-controller
The u-controller distinguishes polarity and frequency of the H/V sync which are supplied from signal cable.
And u-controller control “Inverter on”, “ LCD power on”, “Lamp current Adjust” and communication with scaler.*2) EEPROM
The controlled data of each modes is stored in EEPROM.*3) Reset block
The reset of the u-controller is active “High”KIA7042 reset IC’s output is low until 5V come to be over

3. Switching Transfermer. This part function is for transfer the primary energy to secondary through a power transformer.
• “Transformer reset” is the mechanism by which magnetizing inductance volt-second balance is obtained.• The need to reset the transformer volt-seconds to zero by the end of each switching period adds considerable complexity to
converters.• To understand operation of transformer-isolated converters:
• replace transformer by equivalent circuit model containing magnetizing inductance.• analyze converter as usual, treating magnetizing inductance as any other inductor.• apply volt-second balance to all converter inductors, including magnetizing inductance.
The “flyback transformer”
• A two-winding inductor.• Symbol is same as transformer, but function differs
significantly from ideal transformer.
• Energy is stored in magnetizing inductance
• Magnetizing inductance is relatively small
• Current does not simultaneously flow in primary and secondary windings.
• Instantaneous winding voltages follow turns ratio.
• nstantaneous (and rms) winding currents do not follow turns ratio.• Model as (small) magnetizing inductance in parallel with ideal transformer.

PAL(phase alternation by line) Developed in Germany ,on 1967 In every other line the R-Y signal is transmitted by inverting phase(180 degree). By combining two horizontal lines, using a delay line in the TV set,
two lines can be combined and any phase error can be cancelled. Phase(Chroma) distortion is reduced. (Automatic hue control)
 Color sub-carrier 4.43MHz Frame rate : 25/sec (50 Field) Horizontal line : 625 Line Nation : West Europe (except France),China,Brazil etc..
4. TV Color System
SECAM(sequential chrominance and memory)Developed in France, on 1967One color signal at a time, transmitting chrominance signal (the R-Y signal and the B-Y signal)
alternately by delay one line.FM modulation for color which is not effected by phase shift removes the problem
during transmission that will effect the color hue nor saturation. Color sub-carrier 4.4MHz and 4.25MHz is used for R-Y and B-Y Frame rate : 25/sec (50 Field) Horizontal line : 625 Line Nation : France,CIS,East Europe etc..

TV Broadcasting System Specifications
Summary
1) Image is transmitted by AM modulation, Sound is FM modulation.
2) Separation & detection of Vision,Sound signal in TV system.
 1. Separation of Vision & Sound
3) De-emphasis Circuit (For improving S/N ratio)
; Noise sensitivity of high frequency is poor
To compensate this problem, transmitter amplifies high frequency part with high-pass AMP (Pre-emphasis)
Receiver needs De-emphasis circuit(low pass filter) for decreasing high frequency.
4) To avoid interference with color signal, use FM modulation & transmit by decreasing amplitude.
5) Mono : same sound pressure in two speaker.
Stereo : different sound pressure in two speker. sound form is moved.
Surround : different sound pressure & Phase. user can feel the sound form in the outside of speaker .

Most of broadcasting station has different modulation ratio.Especially, in case of CATV or BSTV broadcast system, the difference of modulation ratio is more serious than normal system.Whenever customer change the channel, volume level should be also adjusted again. AVL function makes uniform sound-output level, independently of various modulation ratio.AVL function can solve upper inconvenience of customer’s needless operation. So, it’s very powerful and useful function for customer.AVL function of applied to LCD TV chassis can make uniformsound-output level( 60% modulation ratio) from 30% under-modulation to 300% over-modulation ratio.
AVL modulation ratio is 60%, it’s base on 60% modulation ratio.

The DBS extends the frequency range of loudspeakers or headphones. After the adaptation of DBS to the loudspeakers and the cabinet, further customizing of DBS allows individual fine tuning of the sound.Dynamic Bass System combines two effects: dynamic amplification and adding harmonics.
- Dynamic amplification : If the amplitude comes close to the definable limit, the gain is reducedautomatically in dynamic volume mode. Therefore, Clipping effects are avoided.
- Adding Harmonics : Adding harmonics of the frequency components below the cutoff frequencygives the impression of actually hearing the low frequency fundamental. In other words, the listener has the impression that a loudspeaker system seems to reproduce frequencies although physically not possible.
