The LI Gulls is a 501c3 “Not for Profit” organization.
We are the oldest youth ice hockey organization on Long Island.
The Gulls organization has been involved with youth ice hockey for over 40 years.
We provide a place for 350 children ages 5 - 18 to play the great game of ice hockey. We are a premier youth hockey organization with many accomplishments. Our organiza-tion includes our Youth Tier One AAA Organization which is called the Long Island Gulls (www.ligulls.org). Children that fulfill the commitments of team sports are better stu-dents, healthier children and, in the future, more likely to be successful members of their community.
THE COST OF HOCKEY,
Travel Ice Hockey is a special
commitment. The game is an ex-
pensive sport with each player’s
family spending close to $10,000
per season if not more, in order to
participate. It’s not a secret that
hockey tends to be one of the most
expensive sports that these
children can play. Between league
dues, paying for ice time, travel
costs and equipment costs, it is
the price they pay to advance their
children’s hockey career. Parents
can expect to buy new skates, hel-
mets, pads, pants, gloves, jerseys,
socks and pretty much every piece
of hockey equipment every single
season because the kids tend to
outgrow it. Being a sponsor can
help off-set the cost and burden on
the families whose children have a
passion for the sport of hockey.
BENEFIT OF SPONSORSHIP
Ferraro Brothers Hockey Founded by twin brothers Chris
and Peter Ferraro, Ferraro
Brothers Hockey is dedicated
to encouraging, supporting and
sustaining youth hockey aware-
ness, safety and education
through on-ice training, off-ice
instruction, charity events and a
presence in the community.
With a combined 32 years of
professional hockey experience,
Chris and Peter Ferarro bring
the knowledge and expertise
garnered from their years
spent in the NHL, AHL, IHL, Elite
European Leagues and the 1994
Olympics to numerous facilities
across the tri-state area for
one-of-a-kind hockey experi-
ences. Having learned the game
while playing alongside all-time
greats such as Wayne Gretzky,
Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Pat
LaFontaine and Jaromir Jagr,
the Ferraros have developed
a uniquely designed on-ice
program to educate players of
all ages and skill levels in an
encouraging and enthusiastic
environment.
The Long Island Gulls Amateur Hockey Association will have a major advantage because they will have a “home base” at Ferraro Brothers Ice Center. The new facility will be a state-of-the-art sports and recreation center at Eisenhower Park.Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park will include Ferraro Brothers Ice Center, an 85,000 square foot world-class facility with two NHL regu-lation-sized rinks and one outdoor recreational hockey rink that will host skating lessons, youth player development programs, tournaments and hockey teams for all ages and skill levels. The Ferraro brothers hope the new facility will provide youth players opportunities never before seen on Long Island. County Executive Mangano stated, “This new state-of-the-art sports and recreation center is an exciting component of the Hub that will create jobs, comple-ment Nassau’s sports-entertainment tourism plan and provide youth athletes access to world class skating facilities. I am delighted that Nassau County is able to partner with Chris and Peter Ferraro to bring this outstanding facility here. Creating this kind of sports-entertain-ment destination will enhance our quality of life as well as create jobs and opportunities for residents.”
