Prof Johannes Noth resigned as ExCo Secretary
6 nominations received by deadline of 31.1.07; 4 accepted
candidacy
Ballot resulted in election of Prof Reinhard Dengler
Prof Mark Hallets term as Editor-in Chief of Clin Neurophysiol
ended 31/12/07
ExCo received 9 nominations from various sources.
Prof David Burke confirmed by ExCo as new Editor and started

3. Financial Issues
For this fiscal period (2006-2010) each chapter will receive
100,000 USD for its activities. Includes North American
Chapter.
IFCN continues to support chapter and International congresses
with start up funds and fellowships.
4. IFCN Sponsored meetings
Consensus meeting on Electrophysiological Criteria in ALS Awaji
Island April 7 07 Now published in Clin Neurophysiol
Workshop on Clinical Neurophysiology was held in Bangalore,
India on April 13-15, 2007
Neurophysiological Monitoring Meeting was held in Montevideo,
Uruguay on April 19-22, 2007

6. North American Chapter
The 3 North American Societies AANEM, ACNS and CSCN agreed to
form NA Chapter.
Chapter constitution and rules submitted to IFCN Rules
Committee
NA chapter accepted by ballot of all member societies
Now there are 4 chapters : North America, Latin America,
Asia-Oceanea and Europe
This may require a consideration of change in IFCN rules on the
nomination and election of officers in relation to geographical
area.

Geographical areas are: 1: N and S. America, Australasia and
Japan and 2: Europe, Asia (except Japan) and Africa
IFCN ExCO is looking to change geographical area s to 4:
N.America, Latin America, Asia-Oceanea and Europe (inc Middle East
and Africa).
8. Possible options
No change
Expand ExCo to reflect chapters rather than geographical areas
i.e. 4 members at large
Rotate presidency through chapter areas
Consider nomination of members at large by chapters
9. Principles of election to potentially expanded ExCo
Voting should remain as it is with each society voting with its
specified number of delegates
IFCN ExCo elected members should contain representation from
each geographical area
IFCN ExCo members should retain a balance between geographical
areas
10. Next International Congress
29 th International Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology (ICCN)
will be held in Kobe, Japan from October 28th to November 1st ,
2010.

12. IFCN Statutes CHAPTERS 16.1 Chapters: On recommendation of
the Executive Committee and the approval of the General Assembly,
Chapters may be set up each to represent the member societies
located in a particular region. Each Chapter is governed by it s
own by-laws. Those by-laws are considered to be by-laws of the
Federation. These by-laws must be compatible with these Statutes,
reviewed by the Executive Committee and approved by General
Assembly. The Federation Rules Committee serves as the Rules
Committee of each Chapter.
