There are plantings of riesling grapes throughout Italy, but nothing is quite like crisp, white Riesling wine from the mountains in the northern regions. Truly one of the world’s noble varietals, it exhibits a complex palate and slight changes depending on terroir.
Nebbiolo is an old grape, referenced first in literature as far back as the thirteenth century, and originated in the north of Italy. The name derives from nebbia, the Italian word for “fog.” This is likely from where Nebbiolo grows best, high above the fog on the mountain side.
