We celebrate the world through Woody’s eyes with the third annual Woody Allen Film Festival, Life Divided. As his fan base grew into the thousands, we felt that it was best to bring all together to experience Allen’s classics. This year’s film festival hopes to capture Allen’s quirky and neurotic world where he brings a touch of fantasy into reality — capturing the unreality.
This year’s venue, The Paris Theatre, is located in the city that Allen calls home, New York. The Paris Theatre, located in the heart of Manhattan, hopes to encompass the cycle of joy and misery.

Allen is the quintessential New Yorker, seemingly full of neuroses and self-doubt.
Almost al l of his f i lms are set in New York with its diverse characters. Manhattan opens with a breathless voiceover: Born Allen Stewart Konigsberg to working-class Brooklyn family, he wrote gags for big time entertainers Bob Hope and Sid Caesar before becoming a standup on the 1960s comedy circuit, where he would fumble with his glasses, gulp in faux-terror and deliver devastating one-liners with a boxer ’s timing.

He reclaims that he never sees any of his fi lms af ter leaving the editing room, and he remains vaguely unhappy with all of them; never turning out the way he first sketched out his ideas in his bedroom.
He pioneered a new brand of romantic comedy, instal l ing himself as an emblematic urban everyman; the nerd gets the girl and then usually loses her. However, Allen’s feeble screen persona belies a bloody-minded resilience which has allowed him to last the distance in a cut-throat industry.
