The Primary School Years

The Levels of School

My Primary School!

Daily Schedule

• School starts at 8.55 am• We start lessons at 9.10 am - 10.10 am• Breaktime!• More lessons. 10.30 am – 12.00 pm• Lunchtime, 1 hour.• Assembly at 1.00 pm – 1.20 pm• Lessons from 1.20 – 3.25

Uniforms

Everyone has to wear uniforms!

Lunchtime!

• Half the children eat school lunch:

NOT DELICIOUS!

What I ate:

• I took a lunchbox to school with me every day.

In Primary School We Study:

• English• Maths• Science• Design and Technology• ICT (computers!)• History• Geography• Art and Design• Music• Physical Education (P.E.)

English

I like English, I even studied it at university!

Maths

Science

Design and Technology

This is a cooking class.

Design and Technology

In this class they are learning about electricity.

ICT

Computer class.

Our computers were very old!

History

Geography

Geography is one of my favourite subjects!

Art and Design

I hate art! I cannot draw anything.

Music

I don’t like music either, I am very bad at playing instruments!

P.E.We do these sports:

Year 6 – tests!

Everyone takes a test in year 6. This is called an S.A.T. test.

Secondary School

I went to Hitchin Boys School.

The school was opened in 1639, it’s very old!

Secondary School

• We usually study until we are 18 years old.

• We study lots of different subjects, like French, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

• We have to wear a uniform.

• When we are 16, we pick 5 subjects to study.

Hitchin Boys School

• My school has 4 houses:

• Pierson, Skynner, Mattock and Radcliffe.

• Each house has a different colour.

• Each house competes in many sports, and at the end of the year, one house wins a trophy.

A Trophy!
