flat. • It is mostly made of clay.

The clay is mostly good for farming. • Only a few hills exist in the

Netherlands. That is because the Netherlands is

lowlands.• Nether means low. So mix it

together and it becomes lowlands.

Lowlands• The Netherlands has no mountains

because it is way below sea level! • The land has many floods. – The Dutch were very frightened because

they thought they were done forever! – The Netherlands are now wet for that

reason.

Tulips in the Netherlands The Netherlands are rich in tulips. It’s like being stuck in a million tulips! The tulips come in all kinds of colors.
