Your deep cleaner comes in twoeasy to assemble components:

1. Upper handle

2. Portable spot cleaner/Base

The only tool you will need toassemble your cleaner is a Phillipsscrewdriver.

1. Slide the upper handle onto the bodyof the machine by guiding the 2 postson the body into the opening on theupper handle.

2. Firmly holding the upper handle inplace, screw 2 screws into the markedholes at an upward angle above thesupport handle.

3. At an upward angle, screw the remaining2 screws into the marked outermost holesunder the support handle.

Wrap power cord around QuickRelease Cord Wrap.

Wrap flex hose around the hose wrapand secure with hose secure latch.

6. Align the product as image 4 showsand firmly push down the portable spotcleaner until it is secured on both sides.

7. Check latches on both sides to confirmit is secured (5).

To further check if the portable spotcleaner is secure, plug in and turn onto verify that the heat_indicator light isilluminated. If the heat indicator lightdoes not illuminate, release the podand re-secure by pushing firmly untilboth sides snap into place.

8. Snapattachment(s) into the back of unit.NOTE: Portable spot cleaner mustbe fully secure to operate in theupright mode.

Pretreating (optional):

Spray the BISSELLStain PreTreatformula onto heavy traffic areas,soiled areas or stains.

Allow to penetrate for at least 3 minutes.

Clean as normal, using the deepcleaner in upright mode, followingthe instructionsbelow.

by lifting up tank carry handle.

NOTE: This tank was designedwith a flat bottom so it can beeasily filled.

Unscrew the black cap and removebottle insert.

Fill tank with hot tap water to the waterfill line. Add two ounces of BISSELL2Xformula to the tank.

Replace the bottle insert in the tank andtighten the black cap. Replace the tankon the deep cleaner.

Cleaning1. Plug into a proper outlet and press the

power button.

2. While pressing the trigger, make one slowforward wet passandanother one back.

ATTENTION:Some Berber carpets have atendency to fuzz with wear.Repeated strokes in the samearea with an ordinary vacuumor deep cleaner may aggravatethis condition.

Cleaning continued3. Releasethe trigger and make one slow

forward and backward passover thesame area. Repeated passeswill helpaid in dry time.

4. Continue passes until cleaning areais complete.NOTE: Your machine may beequipped with a circuit breaker thatwill automatically shut off the brushif a large or loose object is caughtin the brush roll. If that happens,be sure to unplug your machine,remove the foreign object and thenplug the machine back in to reset thecircuit breaker.

Empty dirty tank

1. When the dirty tank reaches the "FULL"line on the tank, it is time to empty.

2. Remove the dirty tank and carry it toa utility sink, toilet or outside (whereyou will dispose of the dirty water).

3. To unlock the dirty tank lid, rotate thehandle over the back of the tank. Removelid and pour out dirty water. Rinseout thedirty tank to remove any debris.

4. Replace the top of the tank and rotatethe handle forward to lock in place onfront of tank.

5. Before replacing the tank on themachine, wipe debris from red filter

Cleaning your machine1. Flush out machine of any remaining

residual solution.

la. Fill the formula & water tank withhot tap water and turn on yourmachine.

1 b. Recline handle and press the spraytrigger for about 15 seconds whilemaEing forward and backwardpasses on carpet. Continue withoutpressing the trigger until there is nomore water being suctioned up.

lc. Turn off the machine and wrap thepowercord. Make sure the dirty tankand the formula & water tank areemptied, rinsed, and dried beforethe next use.

ld. Before you replace tank, cleanall debris from red filter screen.

2. Rinse the front nozzle of any dirt anddebris.

2a. Remove the portable spot cleanerfrom the base of the machine.

2b. Unscrew three screws with Phillipsscrew driver and remove nozzle.

2c. Rinse the nozzle out at the faucet.

2d. Place the nozzle back onto themachine by hooking the tabs intothe holes on the bottom sides of themachine. Secure with screws.

The inside of the end caps can bewiped out with a clean paper towel,or, for a more thorough clean, the endcaps can be taken off and rinsed clean.

Any loose hair or debris can be pulledfrom the brush rolls and thrown away. Fora more thorough clean, follow directionson page 15 for removal of brush rolls.Your machine is now ready to be stored.

NOTE: Store cleaner in a protected,dry area. Since this product useswater, it must not be stored wherethere is a danger of freezing.Freezing will damage internalcomponents and void the warranty.

Portable spot €leanin 9 modePreparing the machine1. Step on the portable spot cleaning pedal

to releasethe portable spot cleaner.

2. Release flex hose by twisting the hosesecure latch clockwise. Unwrap flexhose completely.

3. Attach the desired tool to the hose gripuntil it snaps together. Make certain thetool is securely attached.

4. Twist the Quick Releasecord wrap clock-wise to unwrap the power cord completelyand plug into grounded outlet.

Filling tank1. Follow the instructions for filling the tank

in the upright cleaning mode section onpage 8.

Cleaning with Tools:IMPORTANT! If using to clean uphol-ster_ check upholstery_tags. Checkmanufacturer's tag before cleaning."_A/" or "WS" on the tag means youcan use your Lift off Deep Cleaner ifthe tag is coded with an "X" or an"S"(w]th a diagonal stTipe through it),or says "Dry Clean Only", do not pro-ceed With any deep cleaning machine.Do not use on velv_ or silk. If manu-facturer_ tag is missing or not coded,check with your furniture dealer.")

NOTE: If your deep cleaner camewith a Deep Reach Tool, do not followcleaning instructions below. Instead,follow i_nstructions in next section.

1. Hold the tool approximately 1" abovethe soiled surface. Press the spraytrigger to apply the cleaning solutionto the soiled area.

NOTE: Hold end of hose below thetank water level to help prime theportable spot cleaner.

2. Using the brushon the tool, gently scrubthe area to be cleaned.

3. Apply downward pressureon the tool andpul/it toward you. The suction will removethe dirt and cleaning solution. Continue untilno more dirt can be removed.

Cleaning with Deep Reach TM Tool

1. Set tool on soiled surfaces and press thetrigger to spray solution onto the soiledarea to be cleaned.

2. Slowly move the tool back and forthover the soiled surface, keeping the toolin contact with the carpet.

3. Release trigger and move tool slowlyover the soiled area to suction upwater and dirt.

4. Continue to clean the area, workingin small sections, until no more dirtcan be removed.

Empty dirty tankFollow the instructions under Empty dirtytank section on page 9 of the Uprightcleaning mode section.

Replacing portable machine on base

1. Align the product with the cord side onthe left and hose side on the right.

2. Push down the portable spot cleaneruntil both sides click securely into place.Test the fit by pulling up on the carryhandle to make sure it is secure. To

further check if the portable spot cleaneris secure, pglu in and turn on to verifythat the heat indicator light is illuminat-ed. If the heat indicator light does notilluminate, release the pod and re-secureby pushing firmly until both sides snapinto place.

Cleaning portable machine

1. Remove and rinse the tools in clean,running water. Dry and replace in thetool storage provided.

2. It is recommended that you suction cleanwater from a bowl to rinse out the hose.Then lift end of hose and stretch out toensure all water is cleared from hose.

4. Replace suction gate door andtwo screws.

Cleaning spray tipsI. Step on the pedal and remove the

portable spot cleaner. To remove eachspray tip, push tab in and pull it out.

2. Clean by rinsing under hot water.

3. Replace by snapping back in.

Small belt removal and replacement (as needed)

Occasional replacement of one or both beltsmay become necessary. If that is needed,please follow the instructions below.

1. Turn off the machine and unplug it fromthe outlet. Remove portable spot cleaner.

2. Remove the nozzle by unscrewing threescrews on the nozzle cover.

3. Turn the machine on its side.

IMPORTANT: with portable spotcleaning pedal facing down.

4. Remove end cap by unscrewing the3 screws. Take care not to drop thescrews into the unit.

5. Remove 1 silver screw from the

pivot arm.

6. Remove pivot arm by gently lifting up.

7. Remove small brush belt.

8. Replace small brush belt, and reversesteps above.

9. Manually rotate brushes by hand tomake sure they move freely. You maynotice a slight resistance from the motor.

Brush removal and lar_le belt replacement (as needed)

Brushes can be removed for cleaning orreplacement as needed.1. Follow small belt removal Instructions on

page 14 items 1-7.

2. Removebrush rolls by pulling themoffof the metal rods. Be careful not tolose the small washer at eachend of the brush rolls.

3. Re-attach the large belt to the grooveson the end of the new brush rolls. Ifthe belt is damaged, replace with anew belt.

Place cleaned or new brush rolls backonto the rods. Make sure one washer is

on each end of the rollers prior to slidin_lonto the rod. Be sure the brush is seatedcompletely on the rod.

Replace small belt over grooves inback roller and metal cog.

Replace pivot arm and secure withsilver screw.

Re-attach end cap by tightening withthe (3) black screws.

Return front nozzle to front of unit, bylatching from underneath and thensecuring with 3 screws.
