The Lifting Equipment Engineering Association (LEEA) has played a key role within the lifting industry worldwide, from
training and standards setting through to health and safety, the provision of technical and legal and advice and the
development of examination and licensing systems. This flyer provides information relating to local and international
regulations as provided by LEEA and in accordance with Lifting operation and Lifting Equipment Regulation 1998
(LOLER).
How often must lifting equipment and accessories be thoroughly examined and certi�cation?

specified intervals by a competent person who must then complete a written report.

- 6 months, for lifting equipment
and any associated accessories used to lift people
- 6 months for all lifting accessories
- 12 months for all other lifting equipment
