The Use Of Wire Rope Slings

The use of steel wire rope slings for lifting in construction and engineering have several advantages. Great strength and minimum of weight combines with good flexibility. Over stress ropes with breaking of outer wire is a clear indication of warning to replace new rope. High reserve strength is provided in the inner wires which are protected by the outer wires.

The regulations define lifting equipment as "work equipment for lifting or lowering loads and includes its attachments used for anchoring, fixing or supporting it". The regulations involve anything, which involves the lifting of goods or people at work.
