Lil’ Twister Potholder Binding Tutorial This tutorial will show you how to add the binding to a small project like the Lil’ Twister Potholder. Layer the Lil’ Twister block with batting, Insul -Bright and backing fabric. Add a few quilting lines to hold in place. Trim the block after quilting. 1. Prepare 2 ½” binding for size of potholder plus 6 – 8 inches extra. 2. Attach binding from back of potholder leaving a little extension where you start. 3. Sew binding, mitering the corners and stopping when you meet the first seam.

Lil’ Twister Potholder Binding Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to add the binding to a small project like the Lil’ Twister Potholder. Layer the
Lil’ Twister block with batting, Insul-Bright and backing fabric. Add a few quilting lines to hold in place. Trim
the block after quilting.
1. Prepare 2 ½” binding for size of potholder plus 6 – 8 inches extra.
2. Attach binding from back of potholder leaving a little extension where you start.
3. Sew binding, mitering the corners and stopping when you meet the first seam.
4. Trim extension to potholder.
5. Press seam allowance and press binding again to make loop.
6. Sew second step of binding, starting with the loop extension making sure to sew through all layers.
Angle the sewing line to the edge of the binding when you reach the potholder body.
7. Continue sewing around binding, turning at corners and stopping half way through the last side. Trim
the loop end, if necessary to desired length. Making a loop, insert the raw end of the loop under the
binding.
8. Fold the loop back over top of binding and finish sewing through all layers, making an extra box of
stitching to secure loop.
9. And you’re done! Enjoy your new Lil’ Twister Potholder.
