U r b a n H U BThis project is the design of a COMMERCE and OFFICE COMPLEX, which aim at solving the CONFLICT
of SPACE. The HORIZONTAL ORIENTATION above links the dynamic axis of Guangzhou city on the
south and north sides, and the breaking of the height conflict on the east and west sides is the design
idea of this project, which acts as the URBAN HUB. The VERITICAL DIRECTION aim at dealing with
the seperation among the stories of the traditional high-rise buildings, with the purpose of breaking
through the separation.

As a variety of areas around the world, including China, have been severely
strucken by catastrophes, a fresh design concept POST-DISASTER
TEMPORORY SHELTER has captured our attention. Although
with the emergency of new mater ial and renovation
technology, temporary shelters can be readily built
and better equipped, another key role of such
shelters as PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT to
vicims has long been neglected.
Thus, this dessign is aiming to construct
shelters with a sense of HOME for the
victims and therefore ease them
psychologically.Focusing on frequent
earthquakes hitting China recently,

The Application of Topology
The Spatial Topological Relat ion
Then Topology was int roduced to the
Space Analysis. All space with the same
properties can be applied by analogy.

Step Four :
Single cour tyard: based on t radit ional Chinese courtyard, emphasizing on shared space of each household, creating the transition between outdoor shared space and indoor shared space
Organic courtyard: all single building will be topologized, and then turns into several spatial points. It will combine with different topological s t ructures to make la rger courtyard based on the small courtyard,
Hea r t - cent re set t lements : the pub l ic buildings are located in the center of the settlement, equipped with large square, offering centrality and condensation point for temporary residence.
The dispersion of settlement: centers on the public buildings and squares, spreading outside and providing beneficial footholds.

L E A V E ’ S R H Y T H MThe design of residence has a close relation with leaves by observation, so we try to use LEAVE as the
design theme and use the method of bionics to narrow the distance between HUMAN and NATURE. It is
also a way to give RHYTHM to the leaves and create vitality and fun for the relation of human and nature.
