CDOT is proposing a striped buffer to be installed on Lincoln Ave. from Wells St. to Armitage Ave. between the parking lane and the shared lane marking. Currently there are traditional marked shared lanes on the roadway. Traditional marked shared lanes will be maintained on Lincoln between Cleveland Ave. and Larrabee St. Both treatments will be evaluated to understand the design’s impact on rider positioning in the roadway. Proposed Shared Lane Marking and Buffer - Wells St. to Armitage Ave. Shared lane marking will remain in the same location. Encourages motorists to park closer to curb. Encourages bicyclist s to travel outside of the door zone. No impact to parking. No impact to motor vehicle travel.
