LINCOLN PARK PUBLIC SCHOOLS LINCOLN PARK, NEW JERSEY MINUTES REGULAR MEETING 7:00 PM, LINCOLN PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL June 9, 2015 District Mission Statement The Lincoln Park School District will provide, through its schools, an educational setting that helps children to love and master learning, to work independently as well as collaboratively, and to develop the character and values that promote a healthy society. It is the school district’s expectation that all students will achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards as well as the Common Core Standards at all grade levels. President Mayers called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and he led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Lois Moeller, Teacher WHEREAS, Lois Moeller, a dedicated educational professional in the Lincoln Park School District who served as an Elementary School Teacher since September, 1988, requested retirement at the end of the day on June 30, 2015; AND WHEREAS, Lois Moeller, during her years of dedicated service, has provided caring support for all children, encouraging the intellectual and emotional growth of these young minds and helping them realize their talents and special aptitudes; AND WHEREAS, Lois Moeller has actively involved the parents in the educational program to enhance learning opportunities for the children; AND WHEREAS, Lois Moeller, as a distinguished teacher, has given so much of her energy and time to students, staff, and parents; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lincoln Park Board of Education hereby publicly acknowledges the accomplishments and professional commitment of this educator, who has enriched the lives of many students, colleagues, and community members; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lincoln Park Board of Education wishes for her and her family many rewarding and happy years in her forthcoming retirement and that the Secretary to the Board of Education be directed to spread this Resolution in full upon the Minutes and that the Superintendent of Schools forthwith dispatch a copy to the teacher being so honored.

Patricia Kaplan, School Secretary WHEREAS, Patricia Kaplan, a dedicated professional in the Lincoln Park School District who served as the Elementary School Secretary since September, 2004, requested retirement at the end of the day on June 30, 2015; AND WHEREAS, Patricia Kaplan, during her years of dedicated service, has provided caring support and assistance for all children, teachers, and community members; AND WHEREAS, Patricia Kaplan has actively involved the parents in the Lincoln Park Elementary School community, ensuring that all members of the community were well informed regarding the events of the school; AND WHEREAS, Patricia Kaplan, as a distinguished school secretary, a true professional, has given so much of her energy and time to students, staff, and parents; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lincoln Park Board of Education hereby publicly acknowledges the accomplishments and professional commitment of Patricia Kaplan, who has enriched the lives of many students, colleagues, and community members; AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lincoln Park Board of Education wishes for her and her family many rewarding and happy years in her forthcoming retirement and that the Secretary to the Board of Education be directed to spread this Resolution in full upon the Minutes and that the Superintendent of Schools forthwith dispatch a copy to the secretary being so honored.

• A discussion was held about the Camden Aquarium field trip and student misbehavior. The rumors that are being discussed are inaccurate.

• Mr. Grube stated that after the Board completes the evaluation process; setting district goals for next year need to be completed. Mr. Grube will meet with the Administrative team to create goals and welcomed any recommendations from the Board. This can be done in a formal process or Board Members may contact him personally.
