Before you startBefore starting work, read the installa-tion instructions in their entirety to get an idea of which items need to be im-plemented on just your roof and in what order these should be done. Lindab Roca must be installed on an impermeable ceiling and fitted directly to battens and counter-battens.

In free roof areas, installation is very easy. If the roof has a lot of obstacles or cupolas, the work required will be much more involved.

Lindab is a turnkey supplier of roofing systems and roofing products and, in addition to metal roofing, can also supply you with roof drainage sys-tems, transitions, roof bridges, snow fences and roof ladders.

Opening the boxStart by checking that your order is complete and that all items on the bill have been supplied. Then review the products and ensure that nothing has been damaged during shipping. If you find that damage has occurred during shipping, you must immediately report this.

Lindab is not responsible for costs in-curred replacing products installed us-ing a method other than the one shown in these installation instructions.

Unloading of goodsLindab Roca is supplied on standard size pallets. The panels can be stored outside provided they are installed within a month. Otherwise, they should be stored under cover out of the rain.

Safe workingAlways wear protective gloves and clothing. Use a safety line and soft-soled footwear when working on the roof. All existing safety regulations must be observed while working with Lindab Roca. It's fine to walk on the roof, but your feet should ideally be placed in the indentations of the pan-els and on battens.

CeilingMake sure the surface is in good con-dition before installing your new roof. The roof profile should be fitted on an impermeable surface with a roof slope of 14° or more. The panels are placed on battens and counter-battens measuring 25x35 mm. The distance between the battens is 370 mm.

Chimney and transitionsFittings around the chimney should be made by a metalworker to ensure a tight and good-looking installation. Lindab has a range of ready to use products to create different types of transition on the roof surface.

Roof maintenanceThe roof is for the most part kept clean and free of dirt by it being rinsed by the rain. Leaves and twigs may be-come trapped in the nooks and should be cleaned out annually. If the roof needs to be washed, the best way is to use a soft brush and warm water.

FastenersIt is important to use the correct fas-teners for all sheet-metal structures. When you use the fasteners from Lindab, you can be sure that they are designed for the purpose and safe to use. Ideally, Lindab Roca is installed using screwdrivers.

Use A12 screws measuring 4.8 x 35.

Installation instructionsIn contrast to laying a traditional sheet metal roof, you start fitting Lindab Roca from the roof ridge. The panels are easy to handle and are laid by lift-

ing the last panel laid and sliding the panel you want to fit underneath.

Always start with row 1 as shown in the instructions. Then install row 0, which is the panel row that connects everything to the roof ridge. Then se-cure the ridge tiles before installing the remaining panel rows. This provides a good base on which to stand, eliminat-ing the necessity of "walking" on laid panels. Once rows 0 and 1 have been laid, the remaining panels are installed in order downward towards the eaves.

Fit and cuttingIf the sheet must be cut, use a pair of snips or a circular saw with a blade

designed for thin sheet metal. Never use an angle grinder.

Use a sharp object, knife or similar to mark cut and fold lines.

Installation – Lindab Roca

FOTP barge board should overlap the trailing edge of the gutter. Make sure that the plate is placed in a straight line along the edge of the roof. Screw in a zig-zag pattern, leaving 300 mm between attachment points.

Place the protective surface of the roof in accordance with the manufacturer's instruc-tions. Cover eaves board flashing bolts.

Attach the flashings with triangular moulding on the roof.

Preparation

For ridge boards, a 45 mm wide joist is used. Adjust the height of the ridge board in accordance with the table to the right, so that the ridge tiles can rest against the ridge board and be secured from above.

When mounting the barge boards, add a strip of roofing felt under the plate. Splicing is carried out with 100 mm overlap.

Attach counter battens 25x35 mm c / c 600 mm.

Measurement B is the distance that is "left over". The top row of panels must be cut here.

Start by folding the edge of the first sheet 20 mm for all plates that are added to edge towards the flashings.

Place the first plate against the flashing as shown in the figure.

Place Lindab Roca cladding plate INCL against the bottom batten. Splicing is carried out with 100 mm overlap.

Attach battens 25x35 mm with A = 370 mm distance. Start at the eaves and go upwards.

Installation – Lindab Roca

Row 1

Always start by adding row 1. Remember to overlap the panels. The last panel in the row will probably need to be cut. Use snips. Don't forget to fold the edge toward the flashing 20 mm.

Secure with screws in the bottom batten.

8

When this measures less than 370 mm, the panels in row 0 must be cut lengthwise. Use snips.

Place the ridge belt along the ridge. Nail down as indicated by the markings.

Screw ridge tiles in every joint from the top down into the ridge board.

Place the final two ridge tiles by overlapping them. Trim the ends first.

Lay out the ridge tiles. Start from both ends of the roof, working towards the middle.

Remember to ensure that the overlap seams do not end up in the same place but are displaced.

Installation – Lindab Roca

Row 0

Ridge

Remove the protective plastic from the adhesive compound.

Press the ridge belt down towards the bottom of the panel.

Then secure the panels between row 0 and row 1.

Once row 3 has been laid, rows 1 and 2 can be secured.

Use a screwdriver to secure the panels. One screw in the top of every second panel.

Installation – Lindab Roca

The panels in rows 2, 3, 4, etc. are laid by lifting the panel above and then sliding the panel you want to fit underneath.

Continue in the same way for each row.

Secure the last row laid at the top of each panel.

10

Secure Roca FR-R flashings using screws c / c 400 mm. Start at the ridge. Splicing is carried out with 100 mm overlap.

The flashing must be placed below the outer ridge tile. Cut a notch in the ridge tile to accommodate the flashing. Finish with Lindab Roca terminators.

Secure counter-battens 152 mm from the centre of the gutter.

Place the gutter on the adjacent battens and secure by screwing into the battens.

Flashing

Guttering

Installation – Lindab Roca

Adjust and cut the panels as evenly as possible in parallel with the gutter.

Make sure to get a 40 mm overhang on the panels over the gutter.

For gutters longer than 2000 mm, use profiles with an overlap of at least 200 mm. Apply sealant to the overlap.

Cover the wakaflex above the chimney with a roof profile.

Installation – Lindab Roca

Seal around the chimney with sheet metal.

Place the cut sheets around the chimney. Apply Wakaflex (or similar) around the chimney and the on top of the “tiles”. Start at the front.

Seal around the chimney

Continue along the sides and over the previously laid Wakaflex.

Secure right up to the upper seal.
