Lindsey Wilson vs. St. Catharine Lindsey Wilson Sports Information (270) 384-8071

Blue Raider Basketball NotesLindsey Wilson-St. Catharine All-Time SeriesLindsey Wilson trails the all-time series with St. Catharine 2-3. The Blue Raiders and Patriots each own a win in the all-time series at St. Catharine. The Blue Raiders swept St. Catharine in 2008-09 and the Patriots returned the sweep last season winning. St. Catharine won the first meeting this season in Columbia

Lindsey Wilson Last Time OutThe Blue Raiders struggled to stop the red-hot shooting for Camp-bellsville University in a 79-60 loss on Thursday night. The Tigers shots 57.8 percent from the field, including 61.1 percent from beyond the three-point arc -- both a season-best against the Blue Raider defense -- in the win. Lindsey Wilson shot just 34.3 percent in the loss.

St. Catharine Last Time OutSt. Catharine took over sole position of second place in the Mid-South Conference standings with a 76-63 win at home over University of the Cumberlands. The hosts dominated the glass out-rebounding Cumberlands 47-33 en route to the upset of the 18-ranked team in the NAIA.

Lindsey Wilson-St. Catharine First MeetingSt. Catharine became the first team to shoot better than 50 percent against the Lindsey Wilson defense en route to an 81-69 win at Big-gers Sports Center. The Patriots shot 56.9 percent while limiting the Blue Raiders to just 38.9 percent shooting from the field, including 3-of-14 (21.4 percent) from deep.

Leader of the PackLindsey Wilson leads the Mid-South Conference in a pair of statisti-cal categories. The Blue Raiders lead the conference and is 12th in the NAIA in scoring defense (64.4) and tops in the MSC and 17th in the NAIA in free throw percentage (71.2).

Recipe for SuccessLindsey Wilson’s success under coach Paul Peck revolves around two numbers, 70 and 50. When the Blue Raiders score 70 points in Peck’s eight-plus years, Lindsey Wilson is 147-16. Additionally, the Blue Raiders are 77-8 under Peck when they shoot 50 percent or better from the field. This season, LWC is 13-1 when scoring 70 points -- the lone loss came to Pikeville -- and 4-0 when shooting 50 percent.

Recipe for Success -- Part IILindsey Wilson is 10-0 this season when the Blue Raiders shoot a higher percentage from the field than their opponents and when they hit at least 35 percent of its three-pointers.

Prince of ThievesLindsey Wilson’s Justin Archie leads the Mid-South Conference and is second in the NAIA in steals this season averaging 2.7 steals per game.

Reigning MSC Player of the WeekSt. Catharine’s Kashiff Carr is the reigning Mid-South Conference Player of the Week. Carr averaged 24.5 points and 7.5 rebounds last week. He continued his stellar play on Thursday with 32 points in a win over Cumberlands.

Looking Ahead to Next WeekWith a win on Saturday, Lindsey Wilson secures the No. 5 seed in the MSC Tournament in Frankfort. A loss, coupled with a Camp-bellsville University win and the Blue Raiders slip to the No. 6 seed. Pairings will be announced on Saturday night.

Head Coach Paul Peck

Coach Paul Peck enters his ninth season as the Lindsey Wilson College men’s basketball coach in 2010-11. He has led the Blue Raiders to a 203-90 record since returning to the program he once coached as a junior college in the late 1970s.

Peck is 439-289 overall enter-ing his 23rd season as a head coach. He is 325-222 against senior college competition during his head coaching career.

The Blue Raiders have reached the NAIA National Tournament five of the eight years under Peck, including a pair of Elite Eight appearances.

Peck has guided the Blue Raid-ers to a pair of Mid-South Conference Tournament titles and shared the program’s only MSC regular-season crown in 2004-05.

Peck is a three-time Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year. He shared the 2002-03 and 2003-04 awards and was the lone MSC Coach of the Year in 2004-05.

The Blue Raiders earned the program’s first-ever NAIA No. 1 rank-ing during Peck’s tenure in the 2003-04 season after starting the season 22-0. That season, the Blue Raiders won a program-record 33 games.

Prior to coming to Lindsey Wil-son, Peck had stints at Cumberland University, Kentucky State University and Panola Junior College. He also served as assistant coach at NCAA institutions Middle Tennessee State University, University of Mississippi and Western Kentucky University.
