The month of August has seen many worthwhile and meaningful events. PID Sunil gave a powerful speech on the day of the Cabinet Presentation. Being a Covid survivor, and having spent an additional one month in quarantine at home he has emerged as a determined person to continue with full vigor. Neither his work targets nor his lionistic activities have taken a back seat. Every goal is being achieved. The only change is in approach. He believes in working differently. New ways to work is the norm as we need to beat the virus. The message is loud and clear, approach targets through new ways. About fifty clubs have reported service activities for the month of August. This is very encouraging. Our RCs too have worked on their Region Themes. Lionistic activities are picking up momentum and great progress has been achieved. It is very encouraging to receive constructive suggestions. Lion Karunanudhi of Lions club of Peenya Dasarahalli has suggested the Newsletter be sent digitally to every lion. Yes we will work on this idea. Best wishes and kind regards. We have completed two months of the Lionistic year 2020-21. Despite the pandemic the lions of our District have been doing wonderfully well. We have added to our numbers. Under the leadership of our PDG Ramesh Rao we have one new club SAHAYA HASTHA. Total number of clubs in our District is 63. Our DCs Ln Venugopal, Ln Ramanji and Ln Nagaraj Shetty have put in place a unique Hunger Relief activity. Every Friday food packets to the needy is being distributed. It contributes to Image Building. DC Kalyani Ganapathy hosted a web discussion on Diabetes with the eminent Dr. Dinesh V. Kamath. Other DCs are also doing good activities. I am very happy to see almost every club engaging in service activities. The pandemic has not slowed down our efforts. We have found new ways of serving. We have made a great start. We have many plans and I have full confidence that all our goals will be achieved. I thank each lion for the many services. With one slogan - Let’s continue to put our kindness in action by putting the health and safety of our communities first – this team has made remarkable contributions during this pandemic time. Mr. Deepak Suman, Governor of Lions Club International District, 317F received the token of appreciation from our Director Ms. Suseela Santhosh. My warm greetings to you all.

Dear Lions and Leos
We are all living in a panic situation due to the invisible COVID 19 which made us to think differently and find new ways of meeting and serving our community. Lions have raised to the occasion and ventured out to support the daily wage earners, Migrant workers all over and earned the appreciation of the government and public.
The Global Leadership Team have successfully completed their tasks of training programs of the Cabinet officers, Club officers and made a sincere attempt to reach the GAT concept to the club level. Now it is time, our clubs percolate the message down to the grass root level. The Global membership team is able to attain a net membership growth in spite of the current situation. The Global Service team is making an impact through our services with the support of the Clubs. The support provided by the LCIF with an emergency grant of USD 10000 helped us to enhance our services in collaboration with the local governments by providing Covid kits, PPE Kits and swab collection kiosks across our district. This has showcased the need to contribute to LCIF through Campaign 100 and we had a good beginning in this direction.
I congratulate all Clubs successfully installing the new office bearers for the fiscal year 2020-21. I am sure the Virtual and physical Cabinet presentation of our district has motivated our cabinet members to fast forward with the respective portfolios without compromising on the health and safety of our members and our communities.
Let me take this opportunity to congratulate all cabinet officers who have taken up the assignments in this challenging and uncertain situation to serve the community in diversity!.
Let us all rejoice and serve but what matters the most is Kindness more than ever before.

Dear Lions and Leos
Greetings and warm wishes to you and to your family, hope all are safe and happy.
COVID-19 is the word we hear every day which has changed the way we live, work and serve. We are living through one of the most challenging times of our lives. An invisible virus has brought the entire world to its knees. In spite of these
problems, I see courageous Lions of our District, stepping out from their comfort of their homes to provide food, groceries, and medicines to daily wage workers, the elderly and most vulnerable sections of our society. Mega Tree plantation program, mega service activities on the occasion Mother Teresa and PIP Rohith Metha Birth Anniversary, relieving the hunger programs organized by various clubs of our districts are few examples of courage and generosity emerging from our Lions. I salute each one of them. Friends, this pandemic has impacted Lions around the world and also created financial hardship for Clubs. To ease out this, Lions Clubs International has come out with few measures such as, no clubs will be suspended or cancelled till 31st December 2020 for late payment. And waved off charter members fee and new member entrance fee till December 2020.
Lions Clubs International Foundation sanctioned covid-19 emergency grant of $10000. We have supported Shishu Mandira which is taking care of destitute children, supported the Covid patience by providing covid kits to BBMP, Covid Swab Collecting Booth to LC Gowribidanur, LC Doddaballapura and LC Hoskote.
I express my gratitude and appreciation for your significant contribution and support, I would like to remind you of the words of our International President “In time of darkness, be the light” and our District Governor slogan “Rejoice and Serve”, let us continue to serve the society with love and affection.

“Greeting & Good Wishes”
Amidst heavy rains, raise in corona pandemic, festival like Krishna Janmastami, Independence Day & Ganesha Chathurthi, we lions have marked this month with several mega events.
First Cabinet Meeting was held on 14th August 2020 by zoom platform.
Most of the clubs celebrated Independence Day with service activities. Our District 317F with the support of 27 clubs organized “Tree Sapling Planting Drive” at Arkavathi layout, Hennur. 980 saplings was planted. District Governor Ln. M.B. Deepak Suman graced the occasion. Thanks to Region Chairperson Ln. K. Srinivasmurthy.
Act of Kindness – A Mega service event by District 317F was organized on 26th August 2020, on the occasion of 91st Birthday of Rohit Mehta & 110th Birthday of Mother Teresa. 49 clubs joined together in distributing groceries, cloths, daily essentials worth 5,00,000/- Lakh to 7th needy service organization. Thanks to Bernaad Chetty & Chinnappa Thomos.

Installation of New team for the year 2020-21 “Snehasampada” was held on 29th August at “Courtyard Marriot”. R. Sunil Kumar past International Director installed the new team. 100 Cabinet officers, guest attended & more than 600 members participated virtually. The program was well organized & was appreciated.
The following service activities was conducted:· Distribution of Scholarships.· Distribution of Refurbished Laptops.· Donation of 1 Lakh to HCG Foundation.· Launching of Online Diabetes Risk Awareness Campaign.· Donation of Freezer Box.

ACT OF KINDNESS – A MEGA SERVICE EVENT BY DIST 317F.Everyone dreams to do something for the society but very few can do so. We Lions are known for looking into new ways to become involved in issues that are relevant and serve in a way which impacts the society small thought of doing a service by one club snowballed to a Mega Event in which 49 Clubs of District 317-F joined emphasizing that we are Lions who are involved in serving for the greater good for our society.
On 26th Aug 2020, on the occasion of the 91st Birthday of PID Lion Rohit Mehta and 110th Birth Anniversary of Mother Teresa, 49 Clubs joined their hands in an act of kindness which exemplifies the saying of Mother Teresa - “Good works are links that form a chain of love”
The herculean task of bringing all clubs and well wishers to contribute for the good cause and show our act of kindness to an estimated amount of 5,00,000 was done at ease because of the like-mindedness of our Lions. This Mega Event was the personification of our District Governor Lion Deepak Suman's Slogan – “Rejoice and Serve”
To mark this day, the following institutions were identified and their individual needs by way of groceries, clothes, daily essentials, cleaning supplies, monetary help and scholarships were distributed.
