PDG Jim Query, Conference Registrar, reports 258 Lions registered with 28 no shows. District 25F had been assigned a goal of 50 Lions. Those who attended pat yourself on the back. We had 86 registered. Indi- vidual Club recognition was based on total Club members registered and present. 25F Clubs recognized were Indianapolis Washington Township and Pike with 8 and Ben Davis with 7. By the time you read this our Winter Cabinet Meeting hosted by the Richmond Lions Club will be history. Now let’s plan ahead. Our District Convention is to be held Saturday, 14 March at Chapel Hill 7 th and 8 th Grade Center, Indianapolis. There is a registration form included in this newsletter. Note our Keynote Speaker is International Director Mike Molenda who will be accom- panied by his wife Lion Linda. I’ve met and had several conversa- tions with ID Mike and I’m confident you’ll enjoy and profit hearing from him. Please put this on your calendar and get your registration in post haste. I know it may seem a long way off but the Indiana Lions State Con- vention will be 24-26 April at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Columbus. It is billed as “Celebrate the PRIDE in Columbus”. You’ll find a registration form in this newsletter. Again I encourage you to complete and submit. Inasmuch as we had 86 Lions from our District at the Mid Winter Conference I’m confident we can exceed that number especially for the Saturday Night All State Banquet where our honored guest will be International President Joe Preston. Your State Convention Committee has been working diligently to make this an affordable event. The meal cost that evening is $15.00 with your choice of Chicken Cordon Blue, Roast Beef or Caribbean Salmon. MD 25 has set a goal in excess of 400. With Columbus being somewhat centrally located in our District I know we’ll be well repre- sented and do more than our share in welcoming IP Joe. Thanks for bearing with these musings. I wanted to let you know that the MD 25 State website is back up and running. To view the website go to www.indianalions.org

MD 25 Lions enjoyed a most interesting and informative Mid Winter Conference Saturday, 10 January at Plainfield Middle School. Lions All, The weather outside may be frightful but I know the Lions of 25F are delightful in their efforts to serve their communities! One area I want to highlight are the many dedicated State Project Trus-tees we have in 25F. Our five state projects are represented by fifteen trustees who are committed to supporting these projects. They spend many hours in meetings and traveling the roads of SE Indiana communicating the good works of the Lion State Projects. I encourage every club in Dis-trict 25F to make contact with your State Project Trustee’s and invite them to your meeting to speak. These trustees are eager to share the good news about how your club support is making such a big difference in the lives of Hoosiers. So do not delay. The trustees are all listed in the District Directory that every Club President and Secretary has been given back in July. Give them a call today and they will be glad to come out and speak to your club! Until we meet again stay warm and keep up the good work Lions! 1VDG John Brown

District Office and Trustee Nominations It is time to submit your letters of intent to run for a District Office or Trustee position in District 25F. Anyone who intends to run for District Governor, 1st or 2nd Vice District Governor must submit a request in writing to the District Nominations Chair, David Straughn. You will also need a letter of endorsement from your home club which states that you are a Lion in good standing in that club, and that the club supports you and endorses your candidacy for office. This letter is due 30 days prior to the District Convention. Since the convention is being held on March 14, letters for District Office will be due by February 12, 2015. Anyone who intends to run for a Trustee of the five state projects , Camp Woodsmoke Trustees and the Indiana Lions Foundation will also need to submit their request in writing, and include the same type letter from your home club. These letters will be due by March 4, 2015, which is ten days prior to the District Convention. Letters should be submitted to: Lion David Straughn, 8636 Nature Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or [email protected]. If you have questions about the requirements for any elected position, you may reference the District 25F. . Constitution and By-laws, which may be found on the dis-trict website, lions25f.org. Under Forms. Please contact Nominations chairperson, Lion David Straughn, with any other questions you may have. His telephone number is (317) 297-1391.

VISION SCREENING TRAINING: Certification/Re-certification training will be held on March 21st, 2015 at Hancock Memorial Hospital, Basement, starting at 9:30am. Class is for any-one over 16yrs of age, LION or not. Hancock Memorial Hospital is located on SR 9, just north of US 40 or South of I-70.

"Lions in Action" SUCCESS IS OURS AGAIN!!! Thanks to our Southport Lions members, Indianapolis Bowling League for the Blind and Captain Ginger Robertson (Southport Police Dept) and her cadet class at JEL food collections, this afternoon, Lions AJ, Bob and Pauline delivered 1260 lbs of food to Hun-ger, Inc. Our goal was "500s". $500.00 donated in December and 500 lbs of food donated in Janu-ary. We more than doubled our pledge of our food donation. Our sincere thanks to everyone.
