Camp Koala 2018 will be limited to 40 participants between the ages of 17 and 20 years from overseas and Australia. Places will fill fast so apply now. Applications close 30 March 2018.
Late applications will NOT be accepted.

Camp Koala Program
The following is a sample of the camp program.
Sunday – Day 1
Daytime: Orientation Activities
Evening: Informal welcome
Monday – Day 2
Daytime: Discover Queenscliff town
Evening: Indoor Olympics
Tuesday – Day 3
Daytime: Day trip to Ballarat
Sovereign Hill Park: You will experience the excitement and fun of the Australian gold rush of the 1850’s. Explore an underground mine – you may even find some gold!
Wild Life Park: see Australia’s famous koalas, feed the kangaroos - and lots more.
Evening: “Quiet night” after a big day out.
Wednesday – Day 4
Daytime: Bike ride to Pt Lonsdale and adventure beach walk. Maybe try surfing! (weather permitting)
Evening: Bush Dance – great fun. Dance until you drop!
Thursday – Day 5
Daytime: Day trip to Melbourne: The capital city of Victoria. Hit the shops or visit the many
attractions in this vibrant city.
Evening: “Quiet night” after a big day out.
Friday – Day 6
Daytime: A cruise on Port Phillip Bay
Evening: ‘Miss Camp Koala Quest’ – watch the boys perform!
Camp Koala “X Factor” Concert
Saturday – Day 7
Daytime: Pack-up & farewells

Camp Information
Camp Rules:
Camp and home-stay rules apply in accordance with Lions Youth Exchange Policy and International Youth Camp Policy.
Internet is not available at Camp Koala.
Camp Koala is a drug and alcohol-free event. Anyone caught breaking this rule will immediately be excluded from camp activities.
Language and Health:
English is the official language of the Camp.
Participants should have moderate or good language skills
Participants should be fit and healthy and able to participate in physical activities Location:

90 minutes south-west of Melbourne’s historic town of Queenscliff
Short walk from the town centre of Queenscliff Climate:
Camp Koala is held during the Australian winter time
Temperatures vary from 5° to 15°C
Warm clothes are essential! Camp Facilities:
Two campers will occupy each spacious dormitory.
Ensuite bathrooms are shared by two dormitories – four campers.
Convection heater with control in each room.
Application and Registration Procedures
Only youth from countries participating in the Australian Lions Youth Exchange Program are eligible to apply for Camp Koala.
Overseas youth can apply for the Lions Youth Exchange Program through their local Lions Club and Lions District Youth Exchange Chairperson.
Australian applicants should contact their local Lions Club.
If you don’t know how to contact your local Lions Club, please contact Camp Koala for assistance.
Registration Forms:
Camp Registration forms are only emailed to youth who have been accepted into the Lions Youth Exchange Program to Australia.
Forms must be typewritten or handwritten clearly. A valid registration form must have all required information and signatures.
The Camp fee MUST accompany the registration form.
