WHAT IS PROPANE AUTOGAS?

Clean. Domestic. Abundant. Safe.

What Is Propane Autogas?

Clean– 24% reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

– 20% reduction in Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions.

– 60% reduction in Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions.

Domestic– More than 90% comes from the United States.

– Of that 90%, the majority is natural gas.

Abundant– Most refueling infrastructure of any alternative fuel.

– Major North American natural gas shales found.

– Powers over 17 million vehicles worldwide.

– Net exporter of propane.

Safe– Low pressure (~ 200 psig).

– Narrow flammability range.

– Fuel tanks are 20 times more puncture resistant than gasoline.

Propane Autogas – A Domestic Fuel

2010 – U.S. Became Net Exporter of Propane– First time in over 30 years.

2011 – Total U.S. Propane Production Exceeds Demand– Domestically produced natural gas liquids (NGLs) exceeded total U.S.

consumer propane demand for the first time ever.

2012 – Total U.S. Propane Supply Exceeds Total Demand– Total supply produced from U.S. and Canadian resources exceeded total

propane demand, including both consumer propane demand and industrial feedstock demand, for the first time.

Customer Adoption

Customer Adoption – Passenger Vans

Case Study – SuperShuttle

Industry: Airport TransportationLocation: Phoenix, AZVehicles: 35 Ford E-350 Passenger Vans

By The Numbers:– 10,000 fewer gallons of gasoline / van / year– 300,000 fewer lbs of CO2 / van

– $14,500 reduction in fuel costs / van / year

“The switch to propane autogas was the smart thing to do. We are seeing tremendous fuel savings right now. Gas prices in Arizona are averaging $3.65 / gallon [in mid-April, 2011]. Our drivers who are using public propane refueling infrastructure around Phoenix are paying $2.20 per gallon.”

- Ken Brooks, National Purchasing Manager

Success in the U.S. Because…

Price of propane autogas– California average price for gasoline last week was $4.15/gallon.*– National average price for propane last week was $1.78/gallon.*

Emissions reduction– 24% reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.– 20% reduction in Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions.– 60% reduction in Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions.

National security– Decreases dependence on foreign oil. – 97% of U.S. propane is from North America.
