About the Department

Department of Mechanical Engineering is NBA accredited

(2016-19). ME department has witnessed remarkable

Aim and Scope of FDP

It is a matter of past that our thoughts and creative ideas

were confined to the physical ability of available production

houses. Present era marks vibrant innovations in

manufacturing by dissolving each technical specialization

barrier. Today, our creativity as a materials and

manufacturing engineer knows no bounds. Versatile

technologies like additive manufacturing, fourth dimension

manufacturing, robotics, micro manufacturing,

reconfigurable manufacturing systems and functionally

gradient materials are surfacing each of which is a landmark

in its own capacity. Enormous research on advancements in

materials and manufacturing is been reported with each

passing second. New paradigms are designed in

manufacturing to ensure rapid adjustment of production

capacity and functionality in response to fluctuating market

conditions. Virtual Production Systems for individualized

Production, for design of Integrated Technologies and for

the “Intelligence” within self-optimizing Production

Systems are booming up. The research in field of virtual

production addresses the dichotomy between planning and

value orientation by developing methods that increase

innovation speed and allow a fast adaption to new

requirements. The present FDP is designed to include the

specialized program for career development of various

engineering professional and is a concrete initiative taken by

Department of Mechanical Engineering, IMSEC. It aims to

enable the practitioners to develop competence for

understanding advancements in materials and manufacturing

to improve teaching and research pedagogy. It also aims to

provide a platform to the researchers to communicate and

learn together with renowned academicians who are experts

of their fields.

Admission Eligibility

The present FDP aims to upgrade research and teaching

experience of the participants. A potential participating

professional can be a faculty of engineering college or a

research scholar having experience in teaching. The

program would specially be helpful for personnel actively

involved in teaching or research of materials and

manufacturing methods.

Registration Fee

Registration fee for the FDP is Rs. 1500. The fees can be

paid either in cash or by a demand draft drawn in favour of

“IMS Engineering College” payable at New Delhi.
