How are children taught to read?

PHONICS

“Phonics refers to a method for teaching speakers of English to read and write their language. It involves connecting

• Read little and often – do not need to read the whole book!

• Make reading fun – take turns• Don’t make it a battle• Encourage children to talk about their books• Encourage children to write and make marks
