IntroductionIntro absent. Need to clearly explain what your topic is and what question you will try to answer.

Example, will use OLS regression to find out if there is a relationship between gas prices and real GDP. I

would make sure you state your dependent variable.

Lit ReviewThis section needs to be a review of similar studies that you can use to compare and contrast

with. Analyze what other people have done to answer the question (various models) and point out

where they are similar with each other and where they are different. Your lit review does not really

explain other studies. You explain possible variables that could affect gas prices, but you need to explain

what other studies have figured out and how they did that. Your last paragraph is not part of a lit

review.

Theoretical Analysis

You tend to do this throughout your lit review. Your last paragraph does resemble, to an extent,

a theoretical analysis, as you describe the variables you think are important to use. I would go further in

depth and explain why you chose those and not others.

DataYou list your variables you will use and describe how they are measured, which is good. You

need to explain where and how you got your data and then describe what potential limitations or

problems you might encounter (correlation, heteroskedasticity). Also don’t forget to use a table.

Empirical ResultsThis section was not present. Suggestion would be to use stata as it is easy to run regressions.

Make sure you report everything and properly use tables, graphs and other figures.

Interpreting Results

This section was not present as you don’t have any data or results yet. Once you do, make sure

you go through this checklist. Also find better lit review studies so you can compare your results with

others. You did include units in your variable list; make sure you interpret your results using units

(example, an increase in x amount of units of variable 1 will lead to an x amount increase in units of y).

Make sure you review CEM.

ConclusionWhen you get to this point make sure you summarize paper. Make your final conclusion

whether Gas $ and GDP are related. Then talk about what you could have done different and what

future studies should look at.

OverallYou have an interesting topic. I would make sure you chose your variables carefully and not drift

away from GDP too much. Remember your goal or question while writing this paper. I would also

recommend taking the final draft to the writing center as they will offer useful help. Make sure you use

proper figures as well.
