Welcome to Little Falls. It is a pleasure to welcome you to our city of old fashion charm and historic mansions, century homes, historic churches and numerous attractions.
We are proud to have the Pine Grove Zoo in our backyard along with Charles A. Lindbergh’s adventures to share with guests; as he lived in Little Falls for his boyhood and we will share many summertime stories from long ago. We would like to have you experience our town as if you lived here yourself, come and enjoy over 18 parks and a long stretch of the Mississippi River Bicycle Trail through our community with a magnificent view of the rushing water at our Dam on the Mississippi.
Just around the corner we are honored to have Camp Ripley Military Base which has 18 miles of undeveloped river front and breathtaking views. It is home to the Military Museum and has a great environmental program for the community and guests to enjoy.
If you are coming to the area for outdoor fun we have multiple locations to enjoy within Morrison County as we are sitting on the Mississippi River. We have over 2002 miles of trail for snowmobiles, bicycles, ATV’s and we love the outdoors with multiple campgrounds and opportunities to stay overnight and enjoy a weekend getaway or stay for awhile.
If you love the outdoors and want a touch of history, walk through the Minnesota Fishing Museum and enjoy the view.
We have century homes and historic mansions such as the Rosenmeier and Linden Hill Mansions that are awesome to tour as you will feel like you stepped back in time with the furniture, collections and architectural design.
We are located in Central Minnesota and our neighboring communities offer numerous opportunities as well: •ExperiencetheSwanville Mid Summer Carnival and make a memory in Morrison County •ReminisceinRandall and visit the downtown area for a vintage shopping experience •Royalton holds the secret treasures to enjoy on your journey •DinelakesidewithgreatviewsinLincoln Lakes •ExplorePierz and check out downtown shopping and great golfing •RidethetrailsasyoucruisethroughFort Ripley on a recreational vehicle

Created by artist Frank Gosiak, two large colored murals, depicting the logging era and main street Little Falls in the early 1900’s, grace the façade of the Hennepin Paper Co. warehouse on Broadway Avenue West across from Cass Gilbert Depot. A third Gosiak mural “Door Into the Past” depicts the history of Little Falls evolving into present day Little Falls. The mural is located at the intersection of Broadway Avenue East and Second Street NE.
Little Falls is the home of two public fresco paintings, both created by artist Charles Kapsner, installed at Lindbergh Elementary School. The first, completed in 1994, is called “The Stewardship” and portrays the life, work and values of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., the American aviator, who lived here as a boy. The second is a 19’ x 41’
monument entitled “Beginnings”, which tells the story of Central Minnesota’s history. This piece was completed in May 2001. The frescoes can be viewed by appointment.

In 1856, when Morrison County was established and organized, the county issued $8,000 in bonds to build a courthouse. By 1860, only one room could be used. Not until 1869, when bonds were called back and reissued, was the frame building completed.
In 1978, the courthouse was restored and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pine Grove Zoo is nestled among one of the last standing grove of white pines in Minnesota. Meander down paved paths and view a variety of exotic, native and domestic animals at home in their spacious natural habitats. Interactive signs and a petting stable provide educational encounters that will enhance your zoo visit and create long lasting memories. Our beautiful zoo also offers serene walking trails as well as large picnic and playground areas. To compliment your zoo experience, a historic log shelter can be reserved for all your special occasions. Mid April-Mid October: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., each day. Mid October-Mid April, closed except by appointment only. 320.616.5595 www.pinegrovezoo.com.
In 1879, as the trees started to decrease due to milling of these monstrous White Pines, some prominent businessmen wanted to preserve a small portion of old
growth forest for future generations. This land seemed like
a perfect spot to preserve. Through various efforts, on September 13, 1907, the land was deeded to the City of Little Falls, “for the enjoyment, pleasure, and benefit of the people of the area”.
In June of 1913, to give visitors more to enjoy, the Park Committee purchased and donated two Great Horned Owls to Pine Grove Park. The birds attracted considerable attention and the committee was urged to keep up with the animal additions consequently, by September, two White-Tail Deer were acquired.… The Pine Grove Zoo had begun!

Siberian tigerSThere may be fewer than 3200 tigers left on earth. Historically there were nine species of tigers in the world – three have become extinct and the other six are teetering on the brink of extinction. According to the World Wildlife Fund there are more Siberian tigers in captivity than in the wild. There are about 200 Siberian tigers in the wild and around 250 in captivity, however, these numbers are hard to confirm.
Come see the Siberian tigers at the Pine Grove Zoo!

Snowmobiling
reSortS and campgroundSA Minnesota morning rolls out from its slumber. The pines whisper of the coming day and all it has to offer as the water laps against the shores in hopeful anticipation. Imagine yourself sitting on a cabin deck at one of our fine resorts or splashing your feet in the lake at your favorite campground. No matter where you choose to vacation in the Little Falls area, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again to recapture the magic.
The newest segment of the Soo Line Recreational trail starts at Hwy 10 bypass and runs west through Morrison County for 10.5 miles as a non-motorized used trail. The Soo Line also connects you to the Lake Wobegon Trail and the Paul Bunyan Trail; this will be considered the longest stretch of continuous paved trail in the United States.
Discover hidden valley, rolling hills, wooded landscapes and small communities that have stood the test of time. Over 400 miles of the finest marked and groomed trails in Minnesota will give you a new and exciting snow experience. Maps are available at the Little Falls Convention & Visitor’s Bureau or our trail resource sites.

hiStoric churcheSHoly Family Catholic Church• The Holy Family Catholic Church is the oldest Catholic church in central Minnesota.
Father Xavier Pierz, a missionary from the old Austro-Hungarian Empire, established
the parish in 1852 for the French Canadian fur traders in the area. Located at
18777 Riverwood Drive, 320. 632.5720.
Our Lady of Lourdes Church• Built in 1922 by some 120 families of mostly Polish descent, Our Lady of Lourdes
Church exemplifies the Baroque Revival architectural style. Gracing the east side
niche altar is an oil painting icon, inlaid with gems, of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
The beautiful stained glass windows give silent testimony to the rich Catholic
tradition. Located at 208 West Broadway, 320.632.8243.
Sacred Heart Chapel• Sacred Heart Chapel, located within St. Francis Convent, was built in 1943.
A Romanesque influence can be seen in its pillars, rounded arches and the
symbolism of the stained glass windows. The architecture, with its miniature
angled tower and raftered ceilings, was influenced by the style of mission
chapels erected by a pioneer Franciscan priest in Mexico and California.
