The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and JosephEach year on the weekend after Christmas the Church cele- brates the Feast of the Holy Family. It is a time when we look at the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph to learn about the Christian values that inspire us in our individual families and in the family of the Church. To- day we thank God for the feast of the Holy Family, a mystery of love and life. By celebrating this the Sunday following Christmas, the Church encourages us to look to the Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph for inspiration, example and encourage- ment. They were the model family as they followed Gods plan for them - both parents worked hard, helped each other, understood and accepted each other, and took good care of their Child so that He might grow up not only in human knowledge but also as a Child of God. This weekend we pray for our families that we may be filled with the love of the Holy Family. With gratitude…. Dear Parishioners, as I write this farewell, I wish to thank God who has given me the opportunity to be here with you in this Parish Community. I sincerely appreciate your love, kindness and support. Please allow me to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for be- ing part of my life journey. Id appreciate please your prayer support as I begin my ministry in Manly and Birk- dale parishes on 1st January 2020. Prayerful blessings on you as this parish community be- comes part of a whole big Parish community known as Living Waters Catholic Parish. I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Julie Anne Mee for her dedicated service, great work and for all her wonderful contribution as parish secretary since 2005. Julie Annes efforts are much appreciated by the whole community of Stanley Riv- er Catholic Parish. Thank you so much. Wishing you all a Happy New Year that is bright, happy, and filled with abundant blessings. Let us remember the past with gratitude, live the present with enthusi- asm, and look forward to the future with confi- dence. Thank you so much and Happy New Year- 2020. Blessings, Fr. STEWARDSHIP: December 29, 2019—The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and

Joseph

“Wives, be subordinate to your husbands…Husbands, love your wives…

Children, obey your parents in everything…Fathers, do not provoke your chil-

dren…” (Colossians 3:18-21)

Pope Francis said that families, through their life of prayer and love, become

"schools of true human growth." Being credible witnesses of Christian love,

especially that of family members, exerts the most positive influence on our

children. We are all children of God, let us pray and love each other as God,

Our Father, does for us.
