the life of the believer

Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV)

"Do not lay up for yourselves

treasures on earth . . . but lay

up treasures in heaven"

"but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where

neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in

and steal."

"For where your

treasure is, there your

heart will be also.“ Matthew 6:21

"Set your mind on

things above, not on

2 Corinthians 4:18

“We do not look at the things which

are seen, but at the things which

are not seen. For the things which

are seen are temporary,

but the things which are not seen

To have a heart for heaven . . .

1. HAVE A BELIEVING

HEART

"He has also set

eternity in the

hearts of men“ Ecclesiastes 3:11

"Whoever lives and

believes in me will

never die.“ John 11:26

“O Lord, at Thy right

hand are is fullness

of joy and pleasures

forevermore.“ Psalm 16:11

"Eye has not seen, nor ear

heard, Nor have entered into

the heart of man The things

which God has prepared for

those who love Him.“ 1 Corinthians 2:9

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is

the gate and broad is the way that

leads to destruction, and there are

many who go in by it. Because narrow

is the gate and difficult is the way

which leads to life, and

there are few who find it.“ Matthew 6:33

EXPECTANT ATTITUDE

Philippians 1:21

and to be with Christ

which is far better"

Ephesians 1:18

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart

may be enlightened in order that you

may know the hope to which he has

called you, the riches of his

glorious inheritance

in the saints,"

1 Timothy 6:17

"Put (your) hope in God,

who richly provides us

with everything for

our enjoyment.“

Because Heaven is our

FUTURE

Heaven should be our

FOCUS

To have a heart for heaven . . .

3. HAVE A

WORSHIPFUL SPIRIT

Hebrews 12:28

"Therefore, since we are receiving a

kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us

be thankful, and so worship God

acceptably with reverence and awe"

“Then I heard every creature in

heaven and on earth and under the

earth and on the sea, and all that is in

them, singing: "To him who sits on the

throne and to the Lamb be praise and

honor and glory and power,

for ever and ever!“” Revelation 5:13

"Then I heard what sounded like a

great multitude, like the roar of

rushing waters and like loud peals

of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah!

To have a heart for heaven . . .

4. HAVE A

WATCHFUL EYE

Titus 2:13

(we are to be) . . . "looking for

the blessed hope and glorious

appearing of our great God

and Savior Jesus Christ,"

Revelation 21:4

“He will wipe every tear from

their eyes. There will be no

more death or mourning or

crying or pain . . .”

John 14:1-2

"I go to prepare a place

for you that where I am

you may be also."

What a day that will be

When my Jesus I shall see

When I look upon His face

The One who saved me by His grace

When He takes me by the hand

And leads me to the Promised Land

What a day, glorious day that will be!!
