PROJECT INFORMATIONGENERAL NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR AND SUB-CONTRACTORS SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH ALL
FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS TOGETHER WITH EXERCISING PRECAUTIONS AT ALL
TIMES FOR THE PROTECTION OF PERSONS INCLUDING EMPLOYEES AND PROPERTY. IT IS THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SUB-CONTRACTORS TO INITIATE, MAINTAIN, AND SUPERVISE
ALL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS, PRECAUTIONS, AND PROGRAMS IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK.
2. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO COORDINATE ALL WORK AND FOR THE MEANS,
METHODS, PROCEDURES, TECHNIQUES, AND SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION.
3. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL REQUIRED PERMITS, FEES, AND INSPECTIONS AS MAY BE
REQUIRED BY GOVERNING BODIES HAVING LEGAL JURISDICTION.
4. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO GUARANTEE ALL WORK INCLUDING WORK DONE BY
SUB-CONTRACTORS FOR A PERIOD OF A MINIMUM ONE (1) YEAR COMMENCING WITH THE DATE OF
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF THE WORK, OR AS STATED IN CONTRACT WITH OWNER. WHICHEVER IS
GREATER.
5. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SCHEDULING AND MONITORING OF ON-SITE
TESTING AND INSPECTION SERVICES AS LISTED IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS MANUAL UNDER
GENERAL CONDITIONS A201.
6. WHEN CONTRACTOR ACCEPTS DELIVERY OF ALL ITEMS NOTED ON PLANS EITHER IN CONTRACT OR NOT IN
CONTRACT HE SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS AND/ OR DAMAGE TO THESE ITEMS.
7. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR & EACH SUBCONTRACTOR IS TO HAVE A FULL TIME QUALIFIED SUPERVISOR
ON THE SITE AT ALL TIMES WHILE WORK IS BEING PERFORMED.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE WORK ALL EXITS, EXIT LIGHTING,
FIRE PROTECTION DEVICES, AND ALARMS IN CONFORMANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES AND
ORDINANCES.
9. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND EXISTING FIELD CONDITIONS WITH THE
DRAWINGS. IN PARTICULAR: OVERALL WALL DIMENSIONS, SOIL CONDITIONS, INCOMING UTILITIES, ETC.
GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO REPORT IMMEDIATELY TO THE ARCHITECT ANY VARIANCES OR FIELD
CONDITIONS THAT MAY CAUSE CONSTRUCTION PROBLEMS PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK.
10. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS. WRITTEN DIMENSIONS GOVERN. ALL PARTITION LOCATIONS, ALL DOOR AND
OPENING LOCATIONS SHALL BE SHOWN ON FLOOR PLAN. IN CASE OF CONFLICT NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT.
FLOOR PLAN BY ARCHITECT SUPERSEDES ALL OTHER PLANS. ALL DIMENSIONS MARKED "CLEAR" SHALL BE

IMPACT LOADS.
18. ALL SAW CUTTING AND CORING LOCATIONS SHALL BE REVIEWED IN FIELD BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR
PRIOR TO CUTTING/CORING.
19. ALL WOOD IS TO BE FIRE-RETARDANT TREATED PER AWPA C20 AND C27 AND SHALL NOT HAVE A FLAME
SPREAD OF GREATER THAN 25 WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E-84. PER IBC SECTION 2303.2.
20. ALL EXTERIOR WOOD BLOCKING IS TO BE PRESSURE TREATED PER AWPA U1 AND M4.
21. ALL FASTENERS, CONNECTORS, OR OTHER HARDWARE IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH PRESERVATIVE
TREATED OR FIRE RETARDANT TREATED WOOD SHALL BE STAINLESS STEEL TYPE 304 OR TYPE 316, OR

2. MARK THE EXACT LOCATION OF EACH ROOF CURB. LAY OUT ALL EQUIPMENT LOCATIONS INORDER TO MAINTAIN PROPER CLEARANCES FROM EXHAUST FANS AND VENTS AS WELL ASPROVIDING FOR PROPER SERVICE CLEARANCES.
3. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL CUT ROOF DECKING MATERIAL TAKING CARE TO AVOID CUTTINGANY STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO INSTALL ANY NECESSARYFRAMING OR BLOCKING AT OPENINGS.

7. TURN CURB RIGHT SIDE UP, LEVEL CURB BETWEEN BOTTOM OF CURB AND DECK, INSTALL INROOF OPENING. SECURE CURB TO ROOF FRAMING AS REQUIRED.
8. GENERAL CONTRACTOR OR ROOFING CONTRACTOR SHALL FLASH AND ROOF IN THE CURB ASDETAILED ON THE DRAWINGS.
9. DUCT RUNS SHALL BE INSTALLED FROM THE TAPS TO THE DIFFUSER LOCATIONS AS SHOWN ONTHE PLANS.
10. WRAP RIGID DUCT WORK AND DUCT TAPS WITH SPECIFIED DUCT INSULATION. SEAL AND TAPEINSULATION AROUND EACH DUCT TAP AND TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CURB.

System Design Verification (SDV)
If ordered, CAS Service will perform a System Design Verification
(SDV) once all equipment has had a complete start up per the
Operation and Installation Manual. Typically, the SDV will be
performed after all inspections are complete.
Any field related discrepancies that are discovered during the
SDV will be brought to the
attention of the general contractor and corresponding trades on
site. These issues
will be documented and forwarded to the appropriate sales office.
If CAS Service has to
resolve a discrepancy that is a field issue, the general contractor
will be notified and
billed for the work. Should a return trip be required due to any
field related discrepancy that cannot be resolved during the SDV,
there will be additional trip charges.
During the SDV, CAS Service will address any discrepancy that is
the fault of the manufacturer. Should a return trip be required, the
general contractor and appropriate sales office will be notified.
There will be no additional charges for manufacturer
discrepancies.
The BLL series hood is a low proximity passover type hood. Hood
shall have size, shape and performance specified on drawings.
Construction shall be type 430 stainless steel with a #3 or #4
polish where exposed. All seams shall be welded and have
stainless steel on exposed surfaces. Unexposed surfaces shall
be constructed of aluminized steel. Individual component
construction shall be determined by manufacturer and ETL.
Construction shall be dependent on the structural application to
minimize distortion and other defects. All seams, joints and
penetrations of the hood enclosure to its lower outermost
perimeter that directs and captures grease-laden vapor and
exhaust gases shall have a liquid-tight continuous external weld
in accordance with NFPA 96. Hood shall be wall type with
provisions to screw to back wall.
Ventilator shall be furnished with UL classified aluminum baffle
filters, supplied in size and quantity as required by ventilator. The
filters shall extend the full length of the hood and the filler panels
shall not be more than 6" in width.
The hood manufacturer shall supply complete computer
generated submittal drawings including hood section view(s) and
hood plan view(s). These drawings must be available to the
engineer, architect and owner for their use in construction,
operation and maintenance.
Exhaust duct collar to be 4" high with 1" flange. Duct sizes, CFM
and static pressure requirements shall be as shown on drawings.
Static pressure requirements shall be precise and accurate; air
velocity and volume information shall be accurate within 1-ft
increments along the length of the ventilator.
The hood shall have:
-A sloped grease drain system which shall be an enclosed
integral part of the hood back with an exposed, removable ½ pint
grease cup to facilitate cleaning.
-Low profile design to allow plate shelf and passover design.
The hood shall be ETL Listed as "Exhaust Hood Without Exhaust
Damper", ETL Sanitation Listed and built in accordance with
NFPA 96. The hood shall be listed for 400° F cooking surfaces at
110 CFM/ft.

System Design Verification (SDV)
If ordered, CAS Service will perform a System Design Verification (SDV) once all equipment has had a complete start up per the Operation
and Installation Manual. Typically, the SDV will be performed after all inspections are complete.
Any field related discrepancies that are discovered during the SDV will be brought to the
attention of the general contractor and corresponding trades on site. These issues
will be documented and forwarded to the appropriate sales office. If CAS Service has to
resolve a discrepancy that is a field issue, the general contractor will be notified and
billed for the work. Should a return trip be required due to any field related discrepancy that cannot be resolved during the SDV, there will
be additional trip charges.
During the SDV, CAS Service will address any discrepancy that is the fault of the manufacturer. Should a return trip be required, the
general contractor and appropriate sales office will be notified. There will be no additional charges for manufacturer discrepancies.
