The national tests in Reading, Numerical Operations and Numerical Reasoning will take place during Wednesday 7th May to Monday 12th May. All pupils from Y2 to Y6 must take part in these tests and tests cannot be taken outside the agreed window. Any child who is absent will be marked as not having achieved the expected outcome. Unfortunate- ly, these arrangements have been set by Welsh Govern- ment and we have to adhere strictly to them. We will be let- ting you know the exact dates for each class very shortly. If you have any specific concerns, then please email me or pop in to see me. Examples of the tests will be available for you to see at the Parents’ Maths Workshop on Wednesday 30th April. More details to follow. NATIONAL TESTS 2014 As you know, on Friday 21st March we are taking part in Sport Relief. The children will be taking part in a variety of sporting activities and Years 3 to 6 are asking friends and family to sponsor them to run a marathon (42km), on a course in the school grounds designed by Y5/6. Maddie, El- eanor and Olivia in the Y6 class are also making cakes to sell—they cost 50p each and there will be enough cakes for all children to purchase one. We are kindly asking for a do- nation of at least £1 per child to give to the charity. In addi- tion, wristbands are currently on sale at school at a cost of £1. Children may come to school in their school PE kit, and will need to have warm clothes / sun hats appropriate for the weather conditions on the day! Please ensure that your child has a water bottle with them too. We hope to have a very enjoyable day, while keeping fit and raising money for a very good cause!
