Lloyds FlexiCard Demo Walkthrough (June 25th 2014)This document will explain how to prepare the App for a demo, what steps to take to showcase the key features of the App and finally, any steps to clean up after the demo.

First, a quick note on how payments are simulated and notifications sent to a device.

Simulated Notifications and PaymentsEach time you log into the App using a specific username and password e.g. mr.lloyds, the App passes up a unique device identifier for your iPhone to the server and associates it with the user you have just logged in as.

When you simulate a payment using the Web Payment Simulator you select a credit card number (to make it easy we also show you the user associated with that number).

You then process the payment; the amount, merchant name and credit card number are sent to the server.

If you use the Contactless Smartcard Reader instead of the Web Payment Simulator, you simply tap the credit card against the reader. It will automatically send the amount, merchant name and credit card number to the server.

When the server receives a payment, it sends a notification about the new payment to the user’s device:

1. It uses the credit card number to find out which user made the payment.2. It then looks up what device is associated with that user.3. Finally, it can send a push notification to that device.

Before DemoIf you are going to use the Contactless Smartcard Reader in your demo, you need to ensure that there is a user setup in the system that has been associated with the credit card number on the card.

At this time, there is only one credit card that has been associated with a user. It ends in 5077 and the user you need to login as is “mr.paypass”.

Before you do any demo, you need to log into the App as the same user that you are going to simulate paying. This is to ensure that the server knows the correct iPhone to send any notifications to.

Regardless of whether you are going to use the reader or the simulator to process the payment, you need to log into the App first.

As these user accounts can be used by multiple people, you may need to check the transactions and instalment plans to make sure that you are happy with the items and how they are named. If there are items like “test trans 6”, you can reset the user to roll it back to just the original demo transactions. See the After Demo section on how to do this.

You can then push the App to the background.

If you are going to use the Contactless Smartcard Reader in the demo and you do not want to use the default settings i.e. £2,500 purchase at MCL Jewellers, you will need to edit the “run_local.bat” file to change the merchant and amount. See the detailed instructions at the bottom of the simulator page: http://demo.labs.mastercard.com/lloyds/simulator on how to do this.

After DemoTo clean up any payments and instalment plans you created before the next demo, you can reset the user. This cleans out all but the original items from the server so you, or someone else, can start the next demo with a clean slate.
