Curriculum & Instruction
2007-2008 Initiatives
Lake Michigan Catholic Schools
So, what are we going to be doing?
During the ’07-’08 school year, LMC OCI PD will focus on achieving excellence in student achievement through staff work done in PLC teams focused on data analysis, best practices, UbD, GLCEs, HSCCEs, and Diocese curriculum, utilizing a PDSA approach with a FISH! Philosophy. This will produce a K-12 math curriculum map, parent curriculum guides, a pyramid of student interventions, updated SIPs, and will result in at least 3 SBCEUs for each participant.
What?
Let’s try again in English, not EduSpeak:
During the 2007-2008 school year,
Lake Michigan Catholic Schools’
Office of Curriculum & Instruction
Professional Development will focus on
achieving excellence
in student achievement
through
staff work
done in
Professional
Learning
Community
teams
focused on:
*data analysis,
*best practices,
*Understanding by Design,
*Grade Level Content Expectations,
*High School Course Content Expectations,
*Diocese Articulated Curriculum,
utilizing a Plan, Do, Study, Act approach
with a FISH! Philosophy.
What’s the Philosophy?
*Play
*Be There!
*Make Their Day
*Choose Your Attitude
This will produce
a K-12 Curriculum Map for math,
parent curriculum guides,
updated School Improvement Plans,
a pyramid of student interventions,
and will result in
at least 3 State Board Continuing Education Units for each participating teacher.
That sounds like a lot! Are the teachers going to feel like this?
