“WHAT I CAN DO TO PROMOTE AMERICANISM AND LOVE OF COUNTRY”

By: Paisley Schwartz America was and still is a land of opportunity, unlike many other countries around the world. To promote Americanism, I need to understand why I love Ameri-ca, and why others should love America too. For start-ers, America has the military, all that they sacrifice for us, and their love. We all need to love and understand why all of them are amazing. I hope I can be friends with veterans because they have sacrificed so much for me and my country.

I will utilize my free education to be an informed citi-zen, and make plans for the future. I’m looking forward to using that information in elections and participating in choosing America’s leaders, when I come of age. In order to keep America great, I will make an effort to stay an informed citizen on current events. I can also, educate my peers and keep them involved. I will tell my friends and family that we all must work as a unit in our democracy, to maintain the spirit of liberty the United States of America represents. I will tell all my friends and family that I love my country. I hope what I do will promote Americanism and love of country. I will use my opportunities wisely.

“WHAT I CAN DO TO PROMOTE AMERICANISM AND LOVE OF COUNTRY”

by: Sydney Wagner

America was once a well oiled machine. We have had our share of struggle and even war. Some have paid the ultimate price to protect our country. Many believe we have lost our focus on the ideas used to create our independent country. I think promoting Americanism and love of country would get our rusty gears running. Valuing our freedoms, practicing selflessness, and striving to become independent adults, would promote Americanism and love of country. In order to value my freedom, I decided to study the Bill of Rights. I think we should be comparing our Bill of Rights to other countries. I believe this would make us realize how lucky we are to live in such a free coun-try. America has always been a very giving country. Service to our country is one of the best ways to show selflessness, but not everyone can or wants to serve. There are still many other ways to show selflessness. I can start in my own community by volunteering at a senior center. I can also start a canned food drive at my school for kids in need. Americanism is all about inde-pendence. I believe we should be teaching our children how to become independent adults through education at school and at home. I plan on getting good grades in school so I can go to college, and become an indepen-dent adult that can contribute to our country.

Americanism and love of country has to start with each one of us. Maybe if I practice independence, selfless-ness, and value my freedom I can inspire others. After all America could still be a well oiled machine.
